What coding should I use for my site?

    I'm going to hire a freelancer to build a real estate listing website for me. The site will be similar to www.forsalebyowner.com I want to know what coding language I should get my freelancer to use to build the site? What coding is the best and why?

    PHP may be the best for the need, OR What else is popular?? USe PHP codes, since they can be dynamic with If statements and also Include JAVA and AJAX and Silvelight Frames so that the pages and image functions becomes superb.

    Why do you not want to use realty CMS and just make modification?

    +1 php is one of popular language. Also you do not have any problem with select hosting.
    Ruby language but about hosting I do not know. I suppose It should be dedicate server

    I recommend using a real estate CMS there are plenty out there, and the price is way less then hiring a freelancer....

    I will still have to hire a freelancer even if I use CMS. In this case is it better to use CMS or some other codding like PHP?

    PHP is free and good.
    You can learn it easily because there are many tutorials about it.
    But maybe you can add some javascript to make it more beautiful

    Most CMS are coded in PHP because it is such a versatile langauge. Sites built with PHP just tend to be more scalable, they are free and work on most web hosting plans. You should however, consider having a freelancer code you a template for an already working CMS like wordpress.

    Most people will recommend PHP. Discussing "what's the best" is a little like debating the best flavor of ice cream. Personally, I have found Perl to be more secure and that is what I use for coding on my sites.
