I promised myself, again, that I woldn't buy any domains today.... then was thinking about the 3d revolution over a cup of tea... seearched for opinions... started reading this post... and just spent about $400 on domains... oh boy.

Your just wasting your money on mediocre domain names like 3dwhatever.com and whatever3d.com or whatever3-d.com and 3-dwhatever.com

    two words domain names sucks.

While you are gloating about your regfee purchases I have been making a few good sales (non 3D domains).
It's not enough to gamble on future trends and hope for the best, you also have to put some focus on domains that will make money today.
As long as you're piling up domains that nobody wants, your cash flow is negative.
BTW I hope your username is nothing more than irony.

yes, my username is nothing more than irony.

I don't think I was gloating... quite the contrary... I'm saying I am $400 poorer... and that I need to add more constraint to domain purchasing.

btw, there are a couple of good ones in the list in my opinion that I am going to enjoy working on.

Tell that to the owners of 3dtv, 3dpc, 3ddesign, 3darchitecture, 3dmovies 3dvideos etc etc etc (or better yet, try and purchase them for a reasonable price)

Congratulations, but why are you gloating about it in a 3D domain related thread? Are you just trolling or are you trying to make some obscure point?

Yup, gamble on old trends and technology... that's where the moneys at
I here 2Dtelevisions.tld is going for a reasonable price... maybe you should jump on that!

What makes you think that the people in this thread, only buy 3D related names?
You have no idea what most of us have in our portfolios. Your "good sales" may not rank that highly to some of us.

    Cheers
    James

Not a bad domain! a single word, ccTLD that works well as a hack.
Good luck with it (If it goes for under 5k, the new owner got away lite)...

But Um, what does that have to do with 3D domains... What point are you actually trying to make... That single words are better than two?
Well I would love to have 3D.com or even 3D.tv, but there not available, even 3d.de was snapped up last year for $17,500.00.
And besides, "3D" is not even a word.

so whats left, two words (sorry, one word + 3D)...

(NOTE: none of these were mine)
television3d.es sold for $1,600.00 a few months back, and not long after, 3dtv.co.uk went for $22,650.00
web3d.com sold for $14,301.00 sometime last year and 3dhome.com went for $25,000.00 back in 2008.

A three word domain "3dpornvideo.com" sold for $1,000.00 last month. and someone else in this thread got a grand a piece for two of his three word domains.

So yeah, there still is money to be made in the 3D name space. If you don't want to "gamble" in it, then by all means stay away.
But don't think that just because you post a link to an OK domain at auction, that your opinions suddenly become worth more than others in this thread.

Besides, just because someone doesn't like to drop 'domain name/sales figures' in threads, doesn't mean they couldn't make you feel a bit silly if they did.
    ;)

    Cheers

    Anybody interested in 3DPhones.org?
Place a $200 offer at Sedo and I'll start the auction (so if no other bids are there, you get the domain for $200)

Once you start... it is hard to stop. I spent a lot of money buying 3D domain names... some I was wishing were not available but when they were, I could not stop myself from purchasing them. Welcome to the club.

Wow, Nice catch. Something AdTech or any 3d animator would want for sure.
I haven't really been keeping an eye on drops lately, because they seem to becoming quite rare. Good to see your perseverance paid off.

Seeing an increased activity on my buy3dreadytv.com, have also heard and see people asking about 3d tv in the run up to the World Cup.
