Do "BLUE" links really get clicked more by visitors? What colors are best?

I always read different adsense advice columns and they say the Blue color is the most clickable, why is that?

Wouldn't you get the same click through rate if people just matched the links with colors on your site? As long as the links blend with your site isn't that all that matters?

I agree with you, keeping the link colours the same as your other links make the ads appear genuine and part of the site, rather than spammy ads. However, I have no statistics, so please somebody with more knowledge on the matter come forward.

I think the theory is that an html link has always been blue since the internet started, so surfers are attracted to blue or know it is a link. Having a green text link with no hover affects may negatively affect the surfer as he may not know it is a link.

Again this is the theory, but I think you just need to test on your site. I have read everything from bluw works the best, to others that blended their ads and got a better ctr.

Digital point forums here uses green links and white links, and they are one of the top forums. So it goes against the blue links logic.

Yes but when the rest of the site's links are a different colour too wouldn't the user know?

Still, I suppose less advanced internet users would auto-associate blue with a link not knowing it can be any colour, I would suppose in that case, it could be true. And since most people that actually click on ads are less advanced users, it could be critical.

Again there are hundreds of factors involved. Yes DP uses green, but DP users are heavy internet users with technical and marketing background, and know what they are clicking on (or most do). For instance my visitors are middle to upper aged men, and I have found that blue links work a tad better, but it's not a great increase in red which I tested a lot.

When you ask about the rest of the sites links a different color, I think that is part of the A/B testing you need to do. Generally if your ad links will be blue, your site links should match. They may stick out more prominently as ads if those are the only blue links on your site. Or it could be the opposite affect, you just need to test and compare. But over all I have found blue to work the best (usually a shade different than the standard html blue link).

The shape of the ad usually means more than the actual color. Assuming that it doesn't look completely different than everything else. Or there's the old method of making the site so incredibly boring that the visitor uses the ads to leave, in which case you'd make it look totally different.

Blue link is a nonsense, use the color similar and darker colour of your own link colour.

Not many surfers know that link is blue, it's just old story

Very simple - Most of users whom clicked on your ads are regular users and blue link with underline is a well known, perception by them as a regular link. They do click links and pay no attention if what is a kind of link, just clicked to see where would they being leaded to. That's why it would works more than other colors.

Blend Colors To Tend the Visitors To Ads ... do not make blue on red colors match color for combination of better ads ctr and income .

Why cheat visitors blending with same color.. Let the visitors know they are ads.. if there are any interesting ads they would sure click.. i don't match the color of the site with ads.. My sites displays ads with different colors and visitors know they are ads.

People say "I hate ads". So.. I think if we make our adsense links similar with sites' links, we will get more clicks

I use blended colors on most of my sites except for blogs where most searches and visitors frequent so the older or non computer savy audience knows to there are links.

I wouldnt say blue is the best. As long as the colour can attract the visitor eye, then the chances to get clicked is higher.
    All is about colour matching
