This is a good lesson - if you see something up and coming, jump in and get the domain names!

couple more .info's for the collection

    3drt.info
    rt3d.info

    realtime 3d/3d realtime

The 3D movies on today's cinema screens rely on visual tricks to cope with fast action. A new generation, produced at lower cost but delivering higher quality with real-time action, is soon to follow.
The arrival of 3D has boosted cinema viewer’s interest in the ongoing digital revolution. But movies like the recent Hollywood blockbuster Avatar are an intermediate step. They are projected at the industry standard 24 frames per second which is not considered good enough for fast movements, and it is more noticeable in 3D than in 2D. Movie-makers are forced to use visual tricks, such as blurring backgrounds to make objects appear to be travelling more rapidly than they are.

If movies are to be shot and projected at faster frame rates, then equipment manufacturers need standards agreed industry-wide to optimise quality, robustness to transmission errors, content security, and stereoscopic imaging, amongst other things. The EDCINE team completed much of the groundwork for amendment to the industry’s DCI standards at higher speeds, up to 60 frames per second.

Members of the EDCINE team are now tackling some of the challenges in 3D image making for live transmission. At present, the vertical differences between the left and right images that come together to make a 3D image need to be corrected by hand in post-production, a slow and costly process. The team aims to find solutions to enable stereoscopic cinema to run in real time at good quality.

3d live domains look better all the time :)

Osaka, Jun 03, 2010 (JCN Newswire via COMTEX)

    Panasonic Establishes 3D Innovation Center

    Some nuggets from the article:

Panasonic Corporation announced it establishes a Panasonic 3D Innovation Center in Japan today to accelerate the development of its 3D business, a technology that is expected to create a whole new video culture and industry....

Through this initiative, Panasonic aims to achieve growth in its network AV business, one of the company's key business fields, and contribute to the expansion of the 3D industry as a whole.

In this year said to be the "First Year for 3D" and with the commercialization of a series of 3D products for consumer use, Panasonic foresees the expansion of 3D technology not only within the audiovisual field, but also into a diverse range of industries that will include healthcare, education, and arts. Panasonic expects 3D technology will, like IT technology, serve as a key structural element expanding within a wide range of social infrastructure. With such a trend, the industry will require a wide range of End-to-End technology solutions ranging from 3D contents to device solutions.

Estibot quick quote is $ 130 USD. The .com version is $430 USD. These both would have been zero not that long ago; the values are indeed, rising.

While NOT tech, here is one of my names: 3dperfumes.com 9 views last month with no clicks.
What do you think of this name?? Do you think 3D will spill over into products giving this type of domain name value?
A 3D Virtual Storefront that sells perfumes...? Would love to hear your thoughts as I do have a few similar to this.

Estibot is garbage, don't even bother with it. It has to be appraised by a human.

um .... the best way for me to sum this name up would be to not sum it up at all, but i just can't stop myself
... what were you thinking with this one?!
People SMELL perfume and cologne before they buy it... not shop the bottle design ... 3d is a VISUAL experience, not a scented one...
i feel bad saying it, because you've been a nice addition to this thread, but if i'm not hoest, i'm not anything.... but you sir, seem to have found one of the least beneficiaries of 3d with that reg.
    what's next 3dTasteTest?

i'm sorry GO... not trying to be rude, but you need to hear the truth on this one so you don't go grabbing anymore of these
.. and no - BUY3dPerfume will not be a good one either (haha)
but, uh.. Good Luck with your name
    :)

vesatility is the key to this domain opens up quite a few different doors and could be usefull to a lot of people.

right now i would say mid $xx maybe high $xx depending on buyer

has a lot of potential though could be used for a shortened url for Autostereoscopy, software, cars, cad,Auto 3DTV and a lot more besides
its a name to hold for another 6 months + and watch developments closely one of those domains you need to whip into auction just at the right time

I disagree with the other response you got to this; I say YES, virtual storefront of all kinds will crop up online using 3D graphics and other 3D technologies. Women do far more shopping than men - so an industry like perfumes does just fine online, even today. While I agree with hotel that perfumes are about scent, it will be ratings and peer reviews of other women that help buyers make decisions. That coupled with how critical 'packaging' is (in this case, bottles) will be extremely enticing as seen in 3D environment displays. This is an interesting domain name if you hold it for 3-4 years.

tbh i think 3-4 years is slightly optimistic on that
remember its going to take that long before the internet is fully operational with 3d and even then it wont all be perfect,if its going to pull off anything it will be 7-9 years imho
intel is predicting 5 years for a 3d internet

    nice quote this for you
"of all the projects underway at the Intel Labs, Koehl is most excited about how 3D technology will change the way we interact with online information. Though Koehl did concede that the Internet will probably never go fully 3D (people probably wouldn't want to read 3D text for example), he predicted that in the next five years, 3D environments will be broadly accessible."
