PR 0 and PR 4 for the same domain?

My site shows a PR 0 for domain.com and PR 4 for www.domain.com

is this normal? am I doing something wrong?

 

Google views them being two different URL's. Focus your link building on one common link format and redirect all non www to the www domain.

 

Same for my case too.

Some experts advise to focus on one ... preferrably http://yourdomain.com as the visitor did not type "www." (the less work you need visitor to do, the better).

So, the question is - focusing on http://www.yourdomainname.com is better or http://yourdomainname.com ... or it doesn't matter since "both sites" means the same thing. Thanks.

 

It doesn't matter what domain name you will prefered. But make sure you choose one and create 301 redirect in .htaccess.

without www and bydefault index page.Google should know all these are the same site.

Actually they have sort of fixed it. If you log in to their webmaster/sitemaps section you can specify which domain to use.

Always use the htaccess redirect though.

 

Well, if you type domain.com or www.domain.com it always get to my homepage, so I don't know if I need the redirect here.

From my server's point of view, it's the same domain, but for google it's a different thing.

 

That is not the issue. Although the server understands them being the same page, the SE's view them as different URL's.

It's clear that they know www and non-www are the same site. So why making a distinction?

Ok, I went to google.com/webmasters and choose my primary domain as www.domain.com
and I am giving Bondat's tip a try with my .httaccess.

I hope this works, and please send any aditional advice you think I would need.

 

i dont think that www and without www makes any effect,actually in my experience i think that your nameservers for your domain are not working or something's wrong with them
