Israel rejects international investigation of raid



Israel on Thursday rejected calls from the United Nations and others for an international investigation of its deadly raid on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla but left the door open to foreign involvement.
Israel says the commandos used force, killing nine people, only after activists attacked them with knives, crowbars and clubs, as well as two pistols grabbed from raiders. Activists who had set sail for Gaza with tons of aid, hoping to break Israel's 3-year-old blockade of Gaza, say Israeli commandos fired first.
Officials have insisted Israel's military already is investigating the raid and the country is capable of conducting a credible review.

GWorld: Its what I believe. More importantly since the date when Israel has been declared a nation Muslims have killed millions upon millions of other Muslims. Its been over 60 years. Every week you can see Muslim violence on other Muslims.

The fundamentalists throughout the Muslim world are armed to the teeth and brutally murder others who disagree with them. The regimes in power are primarily totalitarian regimes that rule by the gun.

Moderate Muslims are primarily unable to speak out for peace throughout that world. With or without Israel about or over 1 million Iranians and Iraqis killed each other in the war in the 1980's. Turks slaughter Kurds, even going into Iraq to kill them. Fundamentalist Al queda attacks and wantonly kills in Saudi Arabia and the regime kills them back. Internally in Pakistan the fundamentalists have been slaughtering thousands of more moderate Muslims for several years now. It goes on every week. Slaughter by the week. When Saddam's regime went down Sunni's and Shiites slaughtered one another on a regular basis. Week after week after week. The current Iranian regime probably stole the election and now imprison's or kills natives that oppose the regime.

In 2007 Hamas took exclusive political control of Gaza by slaughtering Fatah, killing and humilating them in the process. it was not peaceful. It was slaughter!!! Since then Hamas has sent thousands of rockets into Israel. Thousands. Thousands of death bombs.

What other nation in the world faces that? If thousands of rockets were launched at Canada right now, Canada would strike back. If thousands of rockets were launched at the US or any European nation they would strike back.

Israel defends itself aganst this environment. Over 60 years they have generally done it with prudence. Time and again they have been struck by terrorists representing the crazed regimes lording over the Palestinians. It typically goes on for a while, with Israeli's dying. Then Israel strikes back.

Its a terrible part of the world. Unfortunately it remains dangerous and has been that way for over 60 years. In the meantime the Islamic fundamentalists have simply grown more powerful, the oppressive regimes of Muslim nations more powerful and the voices of moderation weaker.

If Hamas were to simply say: "We want to live in peace" and then enable an effective peace force to ensure that was the case Gaza would be open to being revived. It hasn't happened. Cripes Hamas slaughters any in Gaza that threaten its reign.

GWorld 145-150 years ago it was fair to say that Americans were killing Americans. The great slaughter of one another ended in 1865. It didn't end the enmity but during a 5 year period over 600,000 American soldiers and hundreds of thousands of American civilians killed one another in a violent war.

It ended. Since that period the claim is no longer valid. Today, in the recent past, week after week, and stretching over a 60 year period, violent Muslims and tyrannical regimes in Muslim lands have been conducting a continous killing of one another without a respite. When it ends I won't, and others won't make the claim anymore. Currently its valid.

Meanwhile, @ Will.Spencer. Unlike you I'm simply not a quitter like you running away. Of interest, one of my smb's after a year of work and effort recently had its record sales month of all time. It took a lot of focus, effort, attention to detail, tweaking and retweaking things to make it work. That is the result of not quitting and running away. Like i said, since they were hundreds of journalists present, truth will not be hidden from anyone I'm sure.
