1) The best way to attract one way links is with the quality and originality of your content. Blogs, in depth guides, quality articles, etc. 2) By marketing your site in front of the right people. Think marketing, more than SEO. Including Twitter, Facebook, exchanging with fellow blogs owner. You need to build an audience. 3) General directories IMO are next to worthless. Some paid ones are worth the shot.
