You're kidding me right? WMP11 blows iTunes out of the water in every respect. I prefer Winamp over them both, but that's just me.

Itunes and Zune are both infected with DRM, so I'm not impressed. I will continue tine d/l'n my movies and music for free off p2p and usenet, they can keep their DRM infected files.

    I second that!

well that's your personal choice to steal instead of buy, but it has no bearing on your choice of media player

With such a big budget, they could have easily manage to make something more innovative, not just another clone of ipod :/

Definitely. Innovative it's not. I'm just really crossing my fingers that it works, though. That's all I really want. Something that works. I can do without the bullsh*t bells and whistles like music sharing.

Man, talk about buying the cr@p entertainment cartels are trying to sell to you.

Sorry, but if you'll wake up from the propaganda a bit you'd see that DRM is not meant to prevent people from copyright infringement as much as it is to prevent people from excercising their *fair use* rights. DRM is infact completely and effectively eradicating fair use rights. The song you actually buy is never yours under DRM. It is still controled, not by the actual artist that made it, but by the music label who owns the right to it.

And besides, since when does RIAA truly care about well being of artists? Most of the money earned by selling tracks by those artists goes to RIAA, not the artist themselves. RIAA doesn't care about artists as much as it doesn't care about music lovers. They care only about themselves.

But it's hard to get someone to snap out of the dream they've been living I suppose when you've been living under the impression that sharing culture means stealing and that it is actually for your own good to restrict what you do with your own things you obviously payed for such as your own mp3 player and your own copies of music.

So sure.. go ahead give it all away for the "higher cause" of RIAA profits. Welcome to your own personalized 1984!

It probably will not dominat iPod because so many people have these expensive iPods might not want to just throw it away and spend their money on a new iPod like product.

Except if they start making games like Halo for Zune, then you can sat "Bye bye" to the iPods

The name cud've been a bit better. Ipod sounds kool and hippy and very "inn" while zune sounds like a name of a horse or clock or hell even your grandfather coats :s

As Microsoft said it will take up to several years before they control a chunk of the mp3 market with their player but don't worry Microsoft has the green back to back Zune unlike Apple when they started ipod.

Just a note to those praising WMP11. Read this and then use your logic: Microsoft Media Player shreds your rights (also on digg).

You can't be that naive to consider this acceptable. MS is full on with DRM and it means "1984" style control over what you can do with your computer.

    Thank you

I just saw an image with it and I liked Zune! Reminds me of iPod, however! If I get enough money to buy one, maybe I'll get! But I think that iPod is better(first who launched such a product)!
