I read a lot about submitting sitemaps to the search engines and wonder how important they really are for SEO? Also once I've submitted sitemaps to Google etc do the spiders automatically re-visit or do I need to keep re-submitting? Steve
i guess u are talking about XML sitemap..so the use of sitemap in SEO as an essential factor in assisting web crawlers to navigate a website and the most important thing is there is not need to re submit it cause it will update as and when you are updating your website pages.
Yes Sitemap is very important sitemap. It helps Google Crawler to crawl your site easily and quickly and no you no need to re-submit your site map again and again just submit once and if you have made some changes like you have created new pages or have deleted some pages than recreate and resubmit your xml sitemap to google.
It makes website get quick indexed. I have case study between sitemap submitted and without sitemap. All of them are indexed, but time and changes are different. The website that already submitted get more indexed page, visitors and other advantages..
SEO as a capital agency and you accept fabricated some changes like you accept created fresh pages or accept deleted some pages than charm and resubmit your XML site map to Google because It helps Google Crawler to clamber your armpit calmly your armpit
I don't think Sitemap effects your ranking, it can give Search Engine a better idea of your website structure. Google still can find all your website pages without a sitemap, and Google still check your each page for update and ignore your sitemap even you have one.
To be honest, I also read much about how important is submitting sitemaps to search engines. However, I didn't notice difference after submitting it to Google, even crawling speed or number of indexed pages ...
It can make your site indexed quickly. With sitemap, the crawler of Google can crawl your site easily and quickly, which is an important factor for SEO.
XML and HTML sitemap, both are very important for search engine. Search engine always like XML sitemap.. I think you have to use both sitemaps. Thanks clyde
Besides making a faster indexing, it also helps for example when a link to your site is not indexed, the sitemap makes your site is "found" by bots easily.
I had trouble getting images indexed for over a year, as soon as I implemented Googles image extension for sitemaps the images began to get indexed. I've never had a problem getting HTML pages indexed, but that image extension to sitemaps really comes in handy for me.
Google loves sites with sitemaps. It allows to robot to easly track your website and figure out the structure. And if google likes it then its good for you!
Yes. that's right. sitemap is very important for SEO and website. But you just need submit one time. No more
Whether or not they are important for seo, it's good practice to include one cos some folks actually use them.
Sitemap is especially important if your site:-- Has dynamic content Has pages with a lot of flash or AJAX Is new and doesn't have many links.
I disagree. If your site is constantly adding new content and pages then it is vital that the sitemap is resubmitted once new content is added to the site. Using, for instance, Google Webmaster Tools, I resubmit a main sitemap every time content is added and a news sitemap too, which is vital in that it is indexed regularly and quickly, especially after news has been published - If I publish news items, there's no point in just waiting for Google to crawl my site, it needs to be told that there is fresh new content there. So the art is to keep the site, the sitemaps and the search engines as up to date as possible.
