Can somebody point me in the right direction of some code that would allow me to see which country my visitors are coming from? Thanks.
I use a database which can be freely downloaded from http://ip-to-country.webhosting.info/ to work out the country of a user based on their IP address. It's not 100% accurate, but it's close enough for me for traffic analysis purposes.
Ok, allow me to get a little bit more specific. This is a little complicated but here's the deal: I recently signed my website up with an affiliate program so that I pay my affiliates $1 for every lead they send to me. The only stipulation is that it must be US traffic. I have the option to approve or deny each lead that they send. A lead is defined when a visitor comes to my site and registers as a new member. My URL is www.treasuretrooper.com The visitor's whose country I need to track will be coming through www.treasuretrooper.com/ad/200 Moreover, if I could put the country tracking code on the confirmation page that gets displayed when a new member registers, it would be beneficial to have a timestamp and country. Does this make sense?
you can try maxmind.com azureus, the famous bittorrent client uses it. eg: azureus.sourceforge.net/plugin_details.php?plugin=CountryLocator see how they have used the maxmind.com database..... see if you can do it too maxmind free link maxmind.com/app/geoip_country
Have a look at www.statcounter.com . Its free. If you setup a project for each of the pages you wish to track you should easily be able to see what your after. PM me if you need a hand Regards Brian http://www.bestrealincome.com
Sign up google analytics add your domain, site and take the code paste it in your html this will come to know from which country people have visited your site
You can simply track it using Google Analytics. What you need to do is set the goal for affiliate lead and then you can track the country of the leads that are coming through affiliate. If you have still any query feel free to PM me.
You may be use Google analytics , it is Best One!! secondly statecounter it is also very helping for You... Try one of these!! very easy to Use!!
I use only StatCounter and it gives you many informations about your visitors. Like the OS they are using, screen resolution, Country, time of their visit and much more. Thanks
In my Opinion - Google Analytics is the best one for tracking visitors details of a single/multiple website(s). It has lots of features including conversions tools and you can easily set your goals as well. So Try it! http://analytics.google.com
