Somewhere in this forum, I read a suggestion from an expert to keep your navigation in left side.

Does it matter - Whether you keep you navigation left or right or at top of your site ? What do you think?

yes its good question......actually the thing is, according to seo experts ..visitors maximum focus is on the left side of the site.....experts have some eye tracking tools , and with that they came to conclusion that the navigation should be in left side

well he said so cuz whenever any visitor's visit's your website then he mostly look at your left side panel or left side of your webi mostly .... and also we called that area a scoring area ;) so try to make your navigation there .. well it's not necessary that you keep your all links to left well it also depends on your site design .. but it's good to keep it there :) hope you got a good clearance from this :)

    Hi,

A navigation bar can give readers immediate knowledge of the depth of your site. Just looking over navigation links should give you an idea of what is offered and what's here you definitely want to see. Having a fully equipped navigation bar assures the reader that there are many things to see and do, and encourages them to explore a bit. So, site navigation has lot of importance that actually gives sense to site structure and organization which cannot be over-emphasized at all.

There are many ways to present the navigation:-:)

    1. You can put all the navigation in a bar one side of the screen.
    2. Also you can put along top and bottom or
    3. Put in a frame that stays with you throughout your visit to a site.

The idea behind all this is that you must be able to go to any page in a maximum of two or three clicks, with your main pages accessible in one. So it is not necessary to put navigation bar on left side but on right place according to the users nature and structure of website.:)

Whether to keep your navigation to the left side or at the top horizontal, it totally depends on your website theme and how you want to keep things for your visitors.

But if you have a large navigation than left navigation is more popular. But now a days, you can use "Sub Menus" in top horizontal navigation as well.

    Hope this helps.
