Hi... Me and my friends will start a small online company (service oriented). So everything will be online as much as possible but it would be nice if we can show or get a cheap fax number as most legit businesses have one. We don't expect to use it much but it's a plus to have a fax number when we need it. Any recommendations?
Nothing is cheaper than using a land line you already have. Go to an office supply store and get a fax data switch. Incoming calls will be routed to the fax machine automatically. You do have a land line don't you? -Steve
eFax I have used and works well, I still prefer a landline. You do not need a special line or anything. You can pickup usually a 3-in-1 printer/fax/scanner for around $50 that will get the job done.
I am not sure where you at but if you need a US fax number, Onesuite receiving only fax service is only $1 a month which includes your own fax number. Check Onesuite fax page for details.
Why the heck would you need a fax number for? I run an offline business in an Eastern European country (which, by definition, is 50+ years behind "schedule") and I haven't used my fax machine in AGES.
Because maybe the OP doesn't have a fax machine and don't want to buy one. How much are fax machine these days? How about inks or toners? Papers?
I have had very good experience with ring central. It's not the cheapest but their service is excellent. You can get an 800 number and a free trial, too.
This is going to be a business fax number (with partnership to 3 of my friends) and I don't want to associate my personal number with it and I also don't have a fax machine.
Okay I signed up for eFax and Onesuite fax, both has free trials. Will give a couple of weeks test. Thanks for the suggestions.
eFax is very good, been with them for five years and counting. Never had any troubles. Can really recommend them.
Please take note that eFax free service has a receiving limit of 10 fax pages within a 30 day period or else they have the right to terminate your account. Meaning your fax number will no longer works and you need to inform everyone about it. On the other hand, Onesuite has no limit on incoming fax (including their 1 month trial) and has no "fair usage policy" either.
So far so good. Both Onesuite and eFax numbers receives and forwards the fax to my email within 5 minutes. I didn't know eFax has a 10 fax pages limit per month on their free account. eFax seems good but its not cheap compared with Onesuite unlimited incoming fax service. I'm going to keep both accounts but will make Onesuite fax as my main fax service. Thanks for all the replies.
