Anything made by Toshiba in my experience. It's a good middle of the road brand. You get quality but you don't pay as much as some for the brand name.

I think it is difficult to say which is the best. It depends on your requirement. I am using Dell 1440 and it is pretty nice for me. Specification suits my work. If i would have been working on graphics then it might not be the best for me.

I hope i am not wrong...

It would have to be the Apple Macbook Pro for me. Apart from the slick design, the operating system's performance is great. Mine takes only few seconds to boot up. Battery life is good also. And less problems with viruses. Actually, I have no issues with viruses at all when I made the switch last January. :p Cons, well yes, it is a bit expensive but imagine buying cheap laptops and then having to replace it every year because of battery issues etc. Old saying goes "You get what you pay for."

So i'm definitely with Apple. :)

I have one of these kinds and I'm perfectly satisfied with them. If you ever want to, I'm pretty sure you can upgrade the RAM as well (not 100% sure for laptops though). RAM these days is quite cheap. Other than that, those Inspirons are quite nice.

There is really No best laptop, because each laptop has it;s own characteristic. In choosing a laptop we should look always that we is our very own requirements, this is what we should satisfy so that when we decide to buy one we feel really good deep inside our self.
