Yes, but I don't think it surprises anyone anymore. Business as usual.

    No. They did not over-react.
The pope has no business insulting Islam. He did not need to quote that emperor hateful words unless he agreed with them.

Threatening the death of someone over something he said is normal, then?

No I don't believe that Muslims overreacted to the comments made by the pope. I do believe that some "Muslims" overreacted, but on a whole (nearly 1.5 billion Muslims) Muslims haven't been "overreacting".

Also, why the hell did the pope have to go out and insult Muslims? There's enough shit going on in the world, why the hell would he stir the pot? His irresponsible speech really disturbs me. Whether Benedict meant to insult Muslims or not is irrelevent to me. It doesn't take a genius to realize the repercussions of his actions and if the pope is that stupid, or out of touch with reality he shouldn't be the god damn pope!

It seems as long as there are exactly 1.5 billion, nothing they do will ever make a difference to some.

Imagine if Christians destroyed mosques like muslims have, had violent protests around the world and burned photos of muslim leaders, called for their deaths as well as the deaths of entire nations, burned and destroyed property, etc. Now that would be a shocking over reaction.

The Pope didn't insult muslims, he simply quoted someone from the past.

Here blazinCrazy, make yourself useful :)

When do Muslims not overreact? Seriously, is there any group of people that whines more? The moment they feel like they're gaining some ground, it gets to their heads immediately and they start attacking somewhere. Then when the consequences follow, they immediately play the victims. Islam breeds weasels. It's the religion of hatred and deceit. Seriously, I'm not saying distrust all Muslims. But looking at Muslims as a whole you have to be blind to miss seeing the "fruits of Muhammed's spirit" in action. Following the Quran and the words of Muhammed would be like the whole United States following the "teachings" of David Koresh.

Btw. where is the poll? :)

I don't know if they are christians or not but it happens then and then that nationalsocialists burn down mosques and synagogues.

its OK!! one is suppose to get carried away if its a religious issue...

you should stand up if you thing you are right and what i feel is that there was actually miss-communication rather than anything else...

That is a knowlegable and educated opinion of a moderate, unfortunately a lot of people worldwide do not have the same interpretation.

And because of such polarized opinions regretably, therein lies the overall problem, the extremists have no common dialogue with the moderates

Hence you cannot join together the di-polar divides in Islamic societies

    Yep, as always.

I remember that holocaust cartoon competition in Iran a few months back, on the website there were lots of comments from Westerners taking things in good humour rather than burning flags and organising mass protests.

I guess the sooner people stop taking religion so seriously the better place the world will be.

By what particular method (of reasoning) do you derive that the religion he practices is the 'worst' of them all?

You've been doing caculation at night of the death derived in total or is this just a bit of rhetoric?
