No matter which backlink tools I use, they don't show many of the social bookmarks or blog comments that I made, even though they are dofollows. Even Google Webmaster tool doesn't show all of the backlinks that I created. Why is that?
maybe these page never got clawed by search engine, when search engines do not index it, it cannot be a backlink
Use some software that enables You ( or google ) to index those links. Pinging them will not give You much. Just create an article with link to that link ( if You know what I mean) or create squidoo page or wordpress.com blog and post there links to the pages where You have direct links to website. The key is to have Your links indexed. there are many ways. Other thing is that what don.antonio said - google simply will not reveal all of its secrets...
I am Confused why made blog comments or still need ping them? I think no necessary. But can you tell me how to ping those things,Thanks.
Did you try seeing these links from Yahoo site explorer? I guess... it does catch all the backlinks pretty well. And if you have created these backlinks only very recently... you would do well to wait out a bit of time before checking them! Regards, RightMan
Googlw webmaster tools and some other tools will display only Quality Backlinks.. You can search for other back link tracker tools in the internet. they will tell you what are backlinks availbale for your site. However quality backlinks are important to get good rankings.. About blog comments ( with links ).. they will be considered as backlinks only if your comment get attention from blog visitors...
Only some backlinks show up. That's how it is. Stop worrying about not seeing backlinks in backlink checkers, and focus on making more. I made 5k backlinks to a site of mine last month, about 100 showed up in Yahoo Site Explorer, maybe 2 showed up in most backlink checkers, but the site moved from Page 9 to Page 2 within a few days (for competition over 4 million, which isn't bad). Remember: Just because you don't see them, doesn't mean they're not there.
I use Yahoo to see my backlinks. Webmaster Tools shows very few backlinks. Just go to yahoo.com, and in the search box, type site:yoursite.com
Thanks for the reinforcement. When I type in my url in google, I see listings of pages that link back to my site, even those where the links aren't hyperlinked. Yet when I use tools like backlink checker, the results come up different. Which sources should I go by?
Yahoo Site Explorer is the best way to check backlinks, but they can take upto 2 months to show them, even though they're picked up way, way quicker then that.
YSE shows most of my backlinks, as some have pointed out I believe Google scrutinizes backlinks a lot more and gives more weight to moderated backlinks.
I think web hosting location does not influence on the seo. But webhosting uptime does and this is very important issue...
