    Hello

RBS-Worldpay pulled plug for India and may be same for other many countries too. 8-10 years long relationship they are closing now. They sent contact termination emails to merchant in India. Now various merchant like ourself in trouble. We have large number of recurring billing active with them now we need to lots of exercise find in alternative and working with customer on one to one basis for setting up their billing again, we may loose many customer in this process. This is quite frustrating. It might be okay if they might have given longer period before closing.

Is they are in trouble ?

Is anyone else is experiencing same ?

I forgot to mention RBS is Royal Bank of Scotland and Worlday is part of RBS. But it is not complete merchant account. This is short of third party payment processor but with more control. ccavenue is not a substitute solution for Worldpay. ccavenue is more expensive and less flexible for true payment processing. Further international customer are not really very happy to process payment through ccavenue. Some time back I asked ccavenue regarding recurring payment setup that was not available at that time. A very recurring billing processing system is require.

Suvidh - we are still looking for more strong and reliable solution.

Sweatlana - Few more pain suppose to come as Indian gov. policies are on strict move.

olddocks - Worldpay did same couple of years back for South Africa same. So it is very difficult to bank-upon. Something similar HSBC is doing in India with various banking customers.

It seems purely for their own benefit and calculation without a second thought of consideration about customer losses.

To Everyone out here effected by RBS Worldpay Decision to pull out....I am sending an email to the CEO of RBS and CEO of RBS WORLPAY. In case each one of us sends an email it will certainly have an effect. HOW CAN LEAVING A GROWING ECONOMY LIKE INDA HELP WORLDPAY AS THEY ARE NOT INCURRING ANY EXTRA EXPENDITURES BECAUSE OF US. Even Singapore is listed with them so they are not closing Asian market but just India. Its although more surprising after they hav taken over ABN AMRO Bank. I think its a bad decision not only for us but also for them and I WILL REQUEST EVERYONE TO SEND EMAILS TO ALL HIGH AUTHORITIES BESIDES POSTING HERE AS THIS DECISION DESERVES A SECOND THOUGHT.

I am also writing the name below whose email ID you can find in google:

Stephen Hester - CEO of RBS
Ian Stuttard - CEO of RBS Worldpay

Besides the above their are lot of other Senior Level People to whom we can send emails. Google it and send to atleast couple of High Management people and we will surely get some positive results.

We are also having same issue, have been using them for past 7 years, but now we have applied for payment gateway with HDFC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and also ICICI Bank, now waiting for their credit approval, i suggest if you need an alternative apply with all three of them as it will take long time to get approval, they are really really slow

    Cheers

I found couple of news RBS is selling Worldpay, there are quite many organization has bid.

So now there are no chances that Worldpay immediately will listen to anyone or do something about.

This is big strategic decision so no scope for small (like us) it is expected to be dispose of approx 4 billion USD.

Further if you are offering your software or services or product to most of US and international customer then ICICI and HDFC's are not proper option. Most of US base customer do not recognize them and do not want to transact on your web site.

There is also issue for recurring billing type to setup with them.

Only 3 days left for Worldpay transaction closing.

    Hello
You can get PCI complaince for your site and ask HDFC or ICICI that during sign up the client should not leave your site so that the CC details are accepted directly on your website in that case it should not matter to US customers as they won't know which payment gateway you are using. We are now in final stages of getting approval with HDFC and Standard Chartered, according to the bankers we should get approval latest by Monday or may be even today as our application has cleared most of their checks

So if you really need a payment gateway better try immediately as it take almost a month to get approval and as far as worldpay is concerned they are i think terminating accounts on 4th July, atleast my account is being terminated on 4th July not after 4 days

    Cheers

    Hi,

can you PM me the details of the contact person from HDFC and stan charted where you are getting the setup done from? I didnt get much info on the stan charted website about the setup.

Are the offering recurring payment / virtual terminal solution?
Also will the payments be processed in USD or INR equivalent?

    Thanks
    S

Ok guys we have finally resolved the worldpay issue, so just wanted to share as it might even help others.

Worldpay pulled the plug for indian merchants but they still offer services in Hong Kong, Singapore etc...

So to resolve it we registered a company in Hong Kong, we even setup a bank account with HSBC Hong Kong and then contacted worldpay about it that we are an existing merchant and due to your policy change now we have even setup a company in HK so if they could setup your account in HK, so we applied again for a new worldpay account, they even approved it and once it was approved they moved all futurepay agreements to our new HK account so now for our clients it's all the same, they don't need to enter their card details again and their recurring payments are also working.

Also we we have even got a merchant account with Standard Chartered Bank, India, we got it just for backup just in case if Worldpay again changes their mind and starts cancelling accounts in HK

We have got a new merchant from Standard Chartered, but i personally don't recommend it as it takes forever to get the account approved it took us more then 2 months to get our account approved that too was not easy had to send emails and phone calls daily

    Regards
