why I can not get traffic from bookmarks?

I have done bookmarking for my site about 1 months.
Why I can not get traffic from these bookmarks?
What skills I need know about bookmarking?

 

Only few big bookmarking sites bring traffic. Other are good for link building only.

 

I think one month is a short time. Everything requires a more time. Write some articles in the mean time.

 

I also want to know this, I add Twitter, Facebook, StumbleUpon and Digg icons on my site last week and now has no difference.

 

You wont like the traffic from bookmarking sites if you had them before. They come and go, stay just a few seconds, and never click on the ads or surf the website.
Just use bookmarking sites to get backlinks.

 

Think from the basic point of view of bookmarking, i know of only two reasons, one is to store your favorite website in a single location to access at a later date, second is to build links for websites by webmasters, now in the first case an invidividual will generally make his bookmark private and in the second case the webmaster will not even come back to check his bookmark ever again, so where is the traffic generated from here. Some of the high volume and popular bookmark sites might give you traffic if your bookmark gets popular or hits the frontpage.

 

What made you think that adding the icons would automatically increase your traffic? You need to build up a loyal following and establish a presence. Yes, it is smart to have those icons on your site, especially if you are providing useful content that some one would want to follow you or friend you or whatever, but just by adding them you should not expect more traffic all of a sudden.

 

Oh so true, if you want people to use the icons on your post give them a reason to use them. Engage them!

 

"scheng1" is right I use bookmarking for links only. You will not get much traffic from the smaller sites.

 

I agree. I also think that a month is NOT enough time to see any sort of REAL results. Patience is a virtue and one that we MUST have when doing internet marketing.

 

Do you have anything interesting to read on your site?
You can't just bookmark a plain boring page and expect to get traffic. Check out the sites similar to yours that are getting good social media attention and mimic what they are doing.
You're page has to be interesting in order for your guest to share it.

 

They are not called bookmarks! They are called social bookmarking sites. Did you pay attention to the social part?
