I've bee listening to (or reading about) people constantly praising Thesis as if it's the second coming of Wordpress themes. I obviously don't use it, but I can't figure out what is so special about it. After looking at the website, I was very surprised that : 1. It's $87 2. You cannot remove the footer link. Now I'm really confused. What could possibly be so different and special about this theme to cause people to spend $87 and still have to provide free advertising and links. That is a complete deal breaker to me. Can anyone that has this theme tell me what is so special about it?
I had looked at Thesis before, but i had never seen that policy. Just rechecked and I see it is indeed in the single license; I can understand they are trying to upsell the developer license instead, but having to PAY for a theme AND keep a link in the footer is just plain stupid. (IMO). It'd be a deal breaker for me too.
I don't care about SEO options in Thesis Theme, I love the options it gives to web developers and designers to use in different projects. I've used thesis theme for blogs, real estate website, health clinic website etc.
It's more then a wordpress theme, it's a framework, and particularly useful for coding noobs who don't want to mess with code.
Usually a developer license allows you to build unlimited sites, also for clients. Thesis not. It still requires your clients to buy a license for about $40 or $50 per domain. That sucks.
Yes, I noticed that too. I mean God bless them and capitalism, but normally a deveopers license doesn't mean you merely get a discount to use on other sites. Don't get me wrong, I think it looks pretty nice and I have some seen some good modifications that look great, but I just don't see the hype. I actually see people listing themselves as "Thesis Experts"...I mean is it really that involved that you are an expert in a theme or single framework ?
