Which script to choose?

I am looking to set up an online store that will provide web based services e.g. design, installation etc.

Are they any scripts (both paid and free) that you would recommend to use for this kind of business?

Really? I was a bit confused with whether the community addition would suffice.. i'm a bit reluctant to pay right away. Will it allow web based services (installations etc)?

I recommend Magento - combines the flexibility of open- source technology with industry leading features to provide merchants unprecedented control over online store operations and get the online sales booming.

Again I repeat the same fact, will these only work for actually physical goods or will they work for virtual goods?

You can try Zeuscart which is free open source with multi features. Or you can try fully effective AJ Shopping cart script to start your online store.

Use either oscommerce or zencart, both are best.

Magento: A flexible sollution. Can be used for both digital and physical products. You have to use some days to learn the basics and how the script is built. It's harder to configure than Zen Cart and OsCommece, but it's a stable solution if you do everything the way it's supposed to be done. Keep in mind that you don't update to new version of Magento right after it's published. Wait for some weeks and search the community forum for any problems with the update. Update only when all the bugs in the new version have been fixed.

Zen-Cart: The perfect option if you're an average php programmer and want total flexibility. It has many add-ons and they're free. With Magento, you have to pay for some of the better add-ons. Zen-Cart is faster than Magento.

From the best of what I can tell, it is a script written by a member here who seems to have multiple DP accounts. Every post at DP regarding aj cart or zeuscart seems to be written by the same person.

The posts recommending zencart and oscommerce don't all have a direct link to those products in their signature and those are already well-established open source software packages. Someone asked about aj shopping cart, and the absolute only mention of that or zeuscart I see across this forum is the same 3 or so accounts, presumably all you, saying essentially the same exact thing in every post and you all have a link to it in your signature. That just smells fishy.

Strictly, i'm not accepting this. Why don't three people having same signatures. Ok, if i didn't show my signature will you accept that those products are suggesting by three different peoples. Why not this could be the case in Zencart and OS Commerce.
