Getting the same results as my CJ account and my CPA account. It is not only affecting on CB but through the whole online spending it seems.

    What a stupid post.

You realize the recession has been going on for nearly 2 years...and technically has already ended right? No way that is the reason that things have gotten significantly worse for some people over the last month or two.

no shit. i seen a lot of healthy bank accounts with affiliate marketing in the past two years. the "recession" has been going on for a long time so you need to stop blaming that. You need to promote things that people are buying in hard times. Health, child development, avoid foreclosure and self help sell not matter what in any market. If you are promoting how to build a chicken coop you may be S.O.L.

do your homework and see what people are buying and promote it. too many people get their heart set on a crappy item just b/c they made a fluke sale....then they think they have a winner and treat it as their baby. we are here to make money so promote things that make money, not things you like as nobody may be looking to buy it.

Lol, I'm so tired of people blaming "the recession" for everything. Everywhere you go that's all people seem to talk about and they blame all their problems on it, even those problems that have absolutely nothing to do with the situation our country is (or was) in.

To get back on topic of the post though, no I haven't really noticed a decrease in sales. The past few weeks for me have actually started picking up.

I think it all depends on the market you're in.

Its very difficult to tell, only thing for sure is that it HAPPEN all the time during these periods. (If I remember well, threads such as this appear on dp as well at this time-last year!)

The most logical reason is that people start to save money so that they can go on vacation etc in summer, which is down the line. But too many variables in question, could be totally anything else.

Its kind of comforting to know that this is affecting almost everyone. Was beginning to think that maybe the problem was from my end. I checked and double checked and everything was working fine and solid, but the sales wont just come in. I'm gonna take my vacation now anyways - so I will get away from this for a while.....

Even if there was something wrong with Clickbank's system, they would never admit it.

You'll get the standard "improve traffic quality" or "normal fluctuations" response from them.

From memory, the same thing happened last year. The trend seemed to go something like this:

    • January to April, Good
    • May to June, Sales drop off
    • End of June to October, Sales pick up again
    • November to December, Slows off for Christmas

Obviously, this may not be the case for everyone, however I am in quite a few niches and experience the above trend with Clickbank across the board.

It's not the recession guys ..

Everyone's blaming it yet that's not the main reason.

Some vendors use to inflate their gravity and suddenly drop. That doesn't mean that there's no affiliates making a killing with a certain product. Your traffic might not be targeted enough, there's a lot of factors to look at before coming up with a clear answer.

exactly... targeted trffic is what is lacking.. also, I see many people send random spam mails... that should be avoided generally

This is the best answer to why anybody may not be experiencing as many sales as they expected.
