I haven't figured out why, but in the last three days I've seen a significant boost in my adsense earnings. I'm not sure if it is simply due to the crazy unpredictable adsense roller coaster syndrome...or if it is due to this wordpress plugin I installed: http://www.w-a-s-a-b-i.com/archives/2006/02/02/wordpress-related-entries-20/ This puts related blog posts at the bottom of each of your blog posts, and increases your page views. Ever since I installed this plugin, my adsense has gone up quite a bit. Coincidence? Perhaps there are some other wordpress bloggers out there that can try it out and see if their adsense goes up too?
It seems so... I need to measure it and get more details. Here's a screenshot of my sitemeter stats with visits compared to page views. Unfortunately, I just started this sitemeter so I don't have full stats during the time before I installed the plugin...I have partial stats though... but, I think I've got a pretty good visitor/page view ratio goin' on. Hopefully it will continue...but it could be nothing more than advertisers starting new ad campaigns...or another mysterious force.
You could also do it internally in blog posts themselves. Like link to related previous posts in the posting so you are increasing views by combining completely related posts (and not relying on keywords).
I've been using that plugin since last year, and it is surprising how much it increases your pageviews. The question though is whether it's your CTR that has gone up or just your number of visitors. My earning have also gone up in the last few days, but it seems to be CPC, not CTR that is doing it.
Check your CTR, and weigh it out. If it's the same it's a good assumption that the plugin is doing something for it. Thanks for the info though, I might investigate this plugin a bit more!
