Its been 3 weeks my site gets over 12-15k visitors aday. Yesterday it hits to 21k visitors. The site can be very slow for couple minutes between 3pm-9pm USA-time when most Americans get online. Sometimes the site is unavailable for couple seconds, especially when 180+ visitors online at the same time. This really worries me, because if its slow like that, im loosing traffic. And im afraid of getting suspended. I talked to hostmonster, and they suggested me to move to other webhosting and get VPS or Dedicated Server plan. The thing is I dont want to pay dedicated server because its too expensive. My budget is below 40$ amonth. Also, I like hostmonster shared hosting because its cpanel is easy to use. So, I did some research and found hostgator. I talked to hostgator support guy, and asked "Which plan is good for my website with 25k + visitors aday?" And he couldn't answer. Instead he lectured me about CPU, RAM, Disk space, It's all my choice" omg.. all this thing is confusing me. I wonder if tehres anyone here with 8+ wordpress sites with over 25k visitor aday? What webhosting u use? How much do you pay? from 8 of my sites, 1 site 6 month old gets 12-20k visitor aday, the other sites get 0-3k visitors aday. I expect it to be growing. What webhosting suit my needs? thanks
Wow, you get 12-20k for a six months' wordpress site. Thats cool. I think you should be looking at VPS or Dedicated if you earn your way with those sites.
I'm afraid that your visitor numbers point to a medium-spec VPS or dedicated server. Is there any way you could earn additional income from your site to pay the higher costs because it may soon become your only choice?
Regardless of the cost you are going to have to move beyond a shared hosting environment a VPS. Here are some VPS options. Find some way to make some extra revenue from you websites to cover the cost. If you are receiving that many visitors a day there is money to be made. Best of luck!
