I HAVE TO buy a domain. but unfortuntealy .com is taken. So 2 options that i have is mydomain.net and mydomain.org. Which one do you think will perform better generally. Because everything i'd do would be exactly the same despite of its .net or .org. What do you suggest i shall go with?
Can you put a hyphen between the words ore add an extra word to get the .com . I prefer .com because it is more commercially viable of all the extensions.
They are both the same, in regards to SEO, so the main consideration would be which one gives your visitors a better impression. .org's indicate an organization, and are usually of the non-profit variety. In my experience, .net's are difficult to remember that they are .net's and not .com's. Almost every .net that i can think of I usually end up typing the domain with a .com first, seeing that it's the wrong site, then going to the.net. If a site has a .org, I think there's a much better chance that I will see and remember that it's .org and not a .com.
They are all the same, no special treatment between those types of TLD.. Its all up to you how you will make them perform better than the other by doing SEO
but don't buy the same name with different TLD in this example : www . domain . com and www . domain . org when you got a direct visitors some of it will type accidentally the domain with . com since . com is the most popular you can extract the same reason why wikipedia . org buy also the wikepedia . com
I think .org sound more powerful in all terms... But see if you can get that .com domain using hyphen or an Action Verb Try this trick, www.buy-your-domain-keywords.com to see if it is available.. Note that by putting an action verb in front, such as buy, you're targeting potential buyers
If you are going to keep things "exactly the same", than I don't think there should be any issue with .net or .org. Yes, for search engines like Google, .org extension has a good reputation but such domains usually represents non-profit organizations.
I think .org is a little more attractive then .net. No telling what it will be in a few years though.
Go with the .net domain. .com has only advantage - People can remember it easily and looks more impressive.
