Need some advise as my site is not converting sales

    Hi all,

I have spent a considerable amount of time and money developing my site, www.comfyearplugs.com and although the site in general has some really good rankings, I am struggling to get sales. I would therefore welcome any feedback users may have.

    Thanks and kind regards. Peter.

The site looks good, it has a nice clean feel and the navigation is ok. It seems like a nice niche market.

How much traffic are you getting? Is the problem converting the traffic to sales, or just not enough traffic?

You might consider adding some keywords via meta title and description tags.

perhaps you should upload a better product images. so it would encourage people to buy. When i see the products images, its not look to good. IMHO

#1 How are your prices compared to your competition? Including shipping.

I like the name and you come up #1 for searching for comfy ear plugs. I dont know if you want to a marketing strategy to market yours as comfy or simply try going for the areas ear plugs are used in. Advertise on gun sites, construction equipment sites, do-it yourself sites, etc.

    Hi Peter,

Since I have purchased Mack's ear plugs, I know it is a high quality product. But having a website and a high quality product is not enough for e-commerce success. Your site needs a great deal of help. You have many strong competitors and if I search on Google for "ear plugs", I get 1.6 million responses.

Here's some of the problems you have. If you fix these, your sales will increase:

You have no Unique Value Proposition. This tells people why they should buy from you instead of your competitors. It is your job to let them know this right away on the home page. If you don't know the answer to this, how do you expect the visitor to figure it out? They aren't going to bother. You have too many strong competitors with much more professional websites.

Most of your type is too small and hard to read. White on black is much harder to read than black on white.

You have a huge "Wall of Text" below your images which no one will read. You need headlines, sub-headlines, bullets and bolding.

You have no Customer Service information. What is someone supposed to do that has a problem? What are your policies? What are your return guarantees? Why don't you have a telephone number?
All of these things are costing you money. Where is the shipping information? People don't want to fill out all their credit card info and then find out that you are over-charging them for shipping.

You don't have an About Us page that tells people who you are. It should have a photo and story. People want to know who they are dealing with. People want to do business with people, not with websites.

People who use and purchase earplugs reorder them. You have no incentive or loyalty programs to get repeat business.

People are used to being able to click the logo to get back to the home page. Yours isn't clickable.

Your policy of making them create a password/login is a DISASTER. More than 30% of the people who start the checkout process will bail out right there.

With 8,000 visitors, even a poor conversion rate of 1% would be 80 orders, 2% = 160, etc. You are leaving a lot of money on the table.

There is a ton of free information about all of this on my website (signature below).

    All the best . . . Carl

Same here. 8K visitors - enough form me :p

Anyway, Peter, I think you should use more professional template with some beautiful fonts. And try to get low profit from each product if possible. Show some discounts, offers, promotional offers, coupons, discount on bulk purchase, product description fonts size seems very small, allow guest checkout etc

Here you have some Visual Marketing Tips:

The contrast between black and red is too much! Try to use softer colors.
The font used for the price is hard to read.
Change the white background for a very soft gray
Put a higher price (do not exaggerate), then a strike-through on it, and on the right side put the current price.
Add also a "quality control stamp" on the top left corner of every box. (the color of the stamps depends on the final colors of the site)

If you need anymore help please let me know!

    Good Luck!
