Just started an Adwords account

I just started an Adwords account. I'm looking for targetted traffic to my sites. Any tips for an Adwords newbie? To start, I setted my budget very low just to see what results I can get from it, might increase (obviously) as I get more results that I like. Currently, I have it start at a $10 monthly budget and I don't know if that would be too low or not for a MySpace related website. Anyways, what budgets are you guys at when you first joined etc.?

    - Begin slow (low bid prices)
    - Install Conversion code
    - Do not go to content network yet, only search network
    - read a lot of thrads here on DP forum

What kind of product do you sell there?

    Use negative keywords
Drive clicks to targeted landing pages
Be careful starting too slow - once you have a low CTR, it can be hard to bring it up
    Stay out of content network
track, track track - know exactely what your visitors searched for that generated the click, tis will help you identify negative keywrods and save you A LOT of money

I also just started, but I didn't see any place to input any bids. I just made my ad, typed in the keywords and that was that. It charges me different amounts for clicks, but I didn't bid on anything. What am I missing?

What is the reasoning behind this?

I would suggest not getting adwords for a site that is not e-commerce oriented. You'll lose more money. If you want traffic, try SEO. You don't spend anything but it really works, you just have to spend a little time optimizing and creating content. But then, I was a newbie when I tried adwords, maybe someone can give you better tips.

I've looked up on Adwords a little more and it you are right with your point. Since I don't sell anything, I would actually be losing money unless my Adsense can manage to pay for it but I decided to stop the Adwords campaign for now.

I have also started Adwords recently and my site is not ecommerce oriented. But I think it should help me. Let me check out for a month or two and see, either I am making money or loosing money.
