OK HERE WE GO, Read this and give me your thoughts!

Ad #1 usually receives 100 clicks out of 150,000 impressions o daily on Facebook's CPC model. I questioned if I could receive 200 clicks by double the impressions count to 300,000 using the CPM model.

    So I ran the test.

Instead of 200 clicks...I only received 50 clicks on average daily!!!! I'l like....gee...Im getting half as many clicks with the CPM model, yet double the impressions. When I switch back to the CPC model after the test....I was as if the test never happend....and started getting previous results...100 clicks, 150,000 impressons on average.

I BELIEVE FACEBOOK IS RIPPING ME OFF. Doubling the impression cout should have doubled/increased the clicks, not decrease them (theoretically speaking). What are your thoughts!

First, I have not extensively used Facebook ads, so this is not personal experience, BUT: I have a webmaster friend who advertises extensively on Facebook and he went to a lot of trouble to verify the validity of the clicks he received through his CPC ads. His tracking was showing that Facebook was charging for more than twice as many clicks than were actually happening. He filed an official complaint and Facebook refunded the erroneous clicks. Again, this isn't my personal experience, but it's been enough that I have maintained only small campaigns on Facebook since I heard his story.

I would be very interested to hear other forum members' opinions on this. Facebook is just too huge a market and the idea of targeting Facebook ads with the wide array of information available through their social network is just too tempting for me to stay away for long, but I'd love to hear more experiences before I continue. OP's story seems to illustrate the same problem.

Oh My...Telesto...with that being said, I'm almost scared to have my clicks verified if that is the case...I really want to believe in Facebook...but it seems there Ad serving system is just as worse as there privacy options that has been all over the news. Any other opinions people?

Thank you for the warning, telesto. I need to reconsider relying on FaceBook.

One other thing to consider is the placement of your ad in CPC vs CPM. It could be that your CPM bid is too low and showing your ad in a less desirable spot (near the bottom). Did you try adjusting your CPM bid to see if the CTR was affected?

Im very noob in this, so if i am saying something non sense, just shoot me :D

But you increase your number of views, but does that means you are increasing your number of unique views? or you are just getting your ad exposed to the same people over and over again?
Thats why you dont have more clicks?

But anyway getting less clicks is really strange. And i was considering make a FB account just to check out their ad system :S

Well try to tell facebook and maybe they will refund your money too for the erroneous clicks.
