Guys this is first time i am using MNF. I am using it on friends laptop which is with me until he is away on holidays. I like the interface etc quiet easy to use. But i am confused a little on SOC part.

Lets suppose i have "keyword". SOC shows 0 competition for that with ad cost of $2.XX. Now i figured out SOC is calculated through inurl, intitle & inanchor.

    - Now i have selected a few keywords. Some of them have Global monthly searches 60,500, 10000 or 5000.
    - 2 of them have exact phrase count as 0 and 3-4 have have 89000, 10000, 5600, 2400

    Few questions
    - Now what i want to know is SOC shows 0 competition but there are a lot of searches and exact searches.
    - Another question is when i search for the same keyword in google search it gives a lot of results and few people targeting same keywords and still it shows SOC 0

Now how should i select my keyword / niche ? based on ads cost or searches ?

What will you do with your keywords? AdWords campaign or Adsense website?
Generally you better choose keywords that have high number of monthly search and have little competition (yes, correct: competitor is calculated through inurl, intitle & inanchor).
As per CPC or ad cost, find the lowest for AdWords campaign, but find the highest for Adsense website.
    good luck,

    Sam
