Hey guys, We just launched our new Starcraft 2 strategy guide (Star2Pros.com) a few days ago. It’s a recurring payment product so we are estimating our affiliates will make from $80 to $100 per sale. We didn’t do advertising for it at lauch but have already picked up 30 or so affiliates and have 7 gravity in the first few days.

This game is going to be huge and will sale guides just as well as world of warcraft did in its prime. If you are looking for a good product to promote that will give you recurring payments for the next 6 years then please check us out. The game doesn’t even come out until July 27th so it will really start picking up in the next for weeks.

Also if you have any suggestions or ideas for our site please let me know I would love some feedback.

    Thanks,
    Wesley (Star2Pros.com)

This is just my opinion, as I am not too familiar with these kinds of niches.

The page looks great by the way, but I wouldn't start by mentioning a price. The first thing you do is tell them how much it costs, and it seems that in this kind of niche with computer games and video games the users will be looking for an answer and a guide, so you should draw them in before mentioning the price. These users are more than used to looking through walk-throughs and things like that so they will more than definitely actually read through your material, so you could spend all of that time boosting your product before you actually drop the price on them. Get it?

    Good luck. :)

Oh... and also, spend some time participating in the forum before announcing your product. Announcing your product on the first post is a big no-no. The members here will not appreciate it at all! They might start tearin you up for it.

yeah starcraft 2 will be huge good idea to get on board this niche right away for vendors and affiliates. It seems like other video game strategies are offering more than 50% commission though. Maybe offer more affiliate marketing tools like keyword lists, e-mail senders etc...

Ok, thanks for the feedback guys. I really like this forum so I hope to get involved and not just do a one post ad for my site. I'm working on getting some more affiliate tools like a keyword list and so e-mails. Be the way I was wondering if there are any other ways to get the word out to affiliates or do you pretty much have to just sit back and wait for them to find you?

This may be a stupid question, but if the game isn't even out yet, how have you written a strategy guide?

Beta testing, is my guess. There's a lot of people playing who had beta keys. Still, there may be changes made for the final release, which I imagine the guide will be revised to reflect...?

Yeah we have been in beta for 3 months now and the beta version they are using now is pretty much the same as retail. They just released a big patch this week so we are updating the guide now.

just present the benefits first, then at the bottom of the page reveal the price. You can't ask for the money in the first paragraph. This is a big no-no

This is really a tangent, but how is the game? Would someone who never played Starcraft (but generally likes these types of games) really like it?

Is that game released yet? :) According to their official website its not.

I dont want to be negative, but its no secret that these so called "game guides" sell so much because they are about games that include "game money" to buy new items, and stuff like that (I mean, people buy the guide because it will give them secrets how to earn more money/items for their character in the game). Games like WOW, mafia wars, farmsville, etc.

From what I know, starcraft 2 is a RTS game and does not fall under this category. If i was going to buy a starategy guide, i would buy the official one which is much cheaper and i wouldnt have to pay monthly for it!

Anyways, take my comments with a pinch of salt, I dont know if starcraft 2 will fall under the category of WOW and if it have potential and so on. Im sure you will know better about this.

But thers a reason why there isnt a game guide on clickbank for each game in the world - because game guides that sell well on CB need to be of a particular type.

    Good Luck!

I love Starcraft 2, I think it is an awesome game but it is very competitive. If you don't like RTS then you might not get into it as much but I still think its worth checking out.

The guide we are selling at Star2Pros.com is for players who want to play at an advanced level, its not really a walk-through for beginners like some of the wow guides. Every little choice you make matters when you start playing at a high level and it can get really confusing and overwhelming so our guide will teach those players how to manage better at the really competitive level. So normally I would say the guide is for a really limited audience but since there will prolly be upwards of 10 or 20 millions players then I wouldn't really call it limited.

I personally do not see the point in selling something that will help someone in a game, when the game isn't even out yet. Yeah, there is beta testing and all that good stuff, but something can be changed in the game that you don't know about and than your guide will be wrong to began with. But that is just my opinion.

P.S. I love the landing page it is very nice :)

Actually its always a good idea to have such product before the release of the game, timing is crucial. While the guide might not sell now, once the game is relased it should if thers a market. I'm sure that the game's basic concepts will stay the same, or at least for the most part of it. Once the game is out he can update it afterwards still :) The most important thing is to be first on the line :)

I am thinking the same is somewhat like the old game. I used to play this game with my son years back. I am thinking this might be the time to give another game product a try. Any idea when/if you are going to have affiliate tools such as articles and such on your affiliate page. It would be a start for writing a lander for a game I have never seen :)

Yeah Web_18 nailed it on the head...I have done a few gaming guides and its always a race to be number 1 on clickbank by the time the game is released. Although I'm doing decent sales already and we are still 9 weeks out from release so that tells me this will be very big.

I'm going to work on some affiliate materials this week, so hopefully I will have some articles and search keywords and ads. I've never written articles before though what is the best way to go about it?
