I'm only 19 and I'm worried that I suffer from stress to often. I hate to moan about my problems so I guess I let them build up until I can't cope and I feel the need to tell somebody all of them in one go! How do you guys unwind at the end of the day? I was thinking about getting a stress ball for while I'm at work. I remember trying a meditation technique where you hold a sponge and imagine it is a rock. Each time you think of a problem you let the sponge "absorb" it. Eventually you imagine throwing the rock in a lake with all your problems and let go of the sponge. Has anybody had any good experiences with things like this?
Ahh, yeah I could lol. However I'm 5ft 6. So i'm not much bigger than the ball itself. Plus I live in a flat. Suppose I could take up jogging again with my dog! Yeah, the only problem is I'm really busy everyday! Work 9 - 5, then freelance work, cooking, walking the dogs, looking after the Mrs lol. It's like I have two full time jobs!
yeah, need to research some techniques tonight I think! Haha, I do have a few friends. Just not many! I can't get away from my girl lol she lives with me. I walk the dogs every night and morning, in fact. It does work! Never thought of that because it's something I do anyway I should do that! Need to get fitter anyways, summers here and it's not good to worried about your appearance at 19!
I used to have a chilled beer in evening with some chilly potatoes or chicken lollypops daily with my friends..
After a stressful day, I find that sitting in silence on my bed for 5 to 10 minutes calms me down. If I'm not particularly busy on a day, I go to the railway station and choose a random place to visit. Different things work for different people I suppose.
I find that walking my dogs at the end of the day helps me reconnect with the real world after a day online.
