When promoting your landers which do you prefer.. would you prefer to spend weeks pormoting with seo and in hope to get your landers high in google.. or would you rather spend weeks writing article upon article and genrate sales that way?? Let the debate begin!

To me this isn't really an either / or situation - doing one just leads to the other to some extent... although if you just blast articles to EZA and nowhere else then I guess this own't bring you all that much SEO benefits - better to get backlinks from a range of sources... so I guess historically I have always used articles as backlinks for SEO rather than directly for traffic - I want the long term ranking rather than the immediate traffic - immediate traffic is a bonus imo.
I use articles for get backlinks and traffic both ..First Submit to ezine and then more 20 dofollow directories including go article and articlebase but my links comes from others sources as well so I prefer SEO because it give me long term business
Exactly, even with so-called bum marketing you will gain SEO benefits from it. I would recommend you to use as many resources as you possible can.
i was kinda asking the question do you focus more on seo or just article marketing, sure article will give you like, but i was thinking about a full on seo campaign.
Focus on SEO, there is no reason to post articles on ezine to get 5-8 views when you can get ranked for that keyword on the search engines if you only did proper back linking. Plus I hate article writing and I know a lot of people hate it too.
i do both. however i get better results if i write one article and then promote it to the first page of google.
Honestly, the only reason I write articles is for the backlinks... So I would say SEO over Article Marketing. Each article of mine personally gets about 30 views within a couple weeks... and the CTR on those is like 15-20%... for me, that's not enough to sustain a business. I put my efforts into building my affiliate sites and SEOing them for top ranks.
@tkboy101 by backlink do you mean submit an article to EZ (or any other dir) and then put link to your site on the article? i'm greener than this template so please detail me if you don't mind thanks, Torrey.
I agree with this. Article Marketing is one of way to get better position in search engine. Because article marketing can make alot of backlinks and also traffic to your site.
Article marketing doesn't bring direct visitors, but also great SEO value. So, article marketing is a part of SEO and can't be compared one with second.
Torrey, yeah, that's precisely it! Except many article directories do not allow you to include a self-serving link (a link for your website) directly inside the article. So they offer a "bio box" or "resource box" you can put stuff inside, which usually appears at the bottom of each article. This is where you'd want to place a link to your site. It's great to do both .. However here's my point of view.. While struggling to get your sites indexed it's great to start with article marketing marketing, churn out articles to get some sales. You can't solely rely on SEO as it's a long process and you might not get your sites ranked even months after. Article marketing is one of the easiest way to get started. Al.
For fast sales i use article marketing it can get me up and running in just under 4 days with ezinearticles where as with other directories it is even more less. But i will link back to my site so that it pushes my ranking higher in google for a particular keyword. Anchor text with my keyword in it will get both my site get good results in seo and articles in search engine like google. When we combine them both we can make more sales as result.
Both r good in my point of view but the difference is the effectiveness. For long term and stability i will prefer SEO

If you choose the right title then article marketing brings in far more than 30 visits a week like a guy above suggests. Some of my articles send me hundreds of visits a month.
Most people fail with SEO ... They just don't understand the mechanics of it and start off by targeting TOP keywords. The truth is that you can rank for some competitive keywords but in the SEO playground you'll need strong high PR links from authority sites to have your websites ranked for TOP keywords. Again, it better to do both, but definitely it's a lot easier to rank your articles (target long tail keywords with low monthly searches) than ranking your own domain for a TOP keyword... that can take months or even years. I've noticed that for some of the top keywords in most niches, some websites just got stuck on the first page of google and it seems impossible to outrank those websites. I'm not an SEO expert myself but I do have a lot of knowledge and managed to rank over 40 websites on the first page of Yahoo and Google --- it's a tough process that requires a lot of ambition and TIME.
