I wanted to make a poll to kinda get an idea where YPN would be in a few months. This is a certain thing but just a guess. Reason for doing so I been thinking if it does drop to googles cpc from what I'm hearing lately this is will be a big impact on many sites.

If yahoo drops anymore then they have been they will no longer have any publishers. Most people are hanging onto Yahoo because it still has a higer payout then google, but their ad relevency sucks so bad. If they payouts drop anymore everyone will go back to google where the CTR will be so much higer and even with the lower payouts you're getting so many more clicks that it wont matter.

Well hopefully ad relevency will take a turn and start getting better. I do hope the rates will stay how they are for a while. I would love forever but dunno if that would happend :) :) Btw Im not making a killer cpc but I'm doing alot better than google's cpc.

The nice thing about yahoo is that the minimum bid is 10 cents so you wont get any of those annoying 1-5 cent adsense clicks. I suspect the minimum epc will be around 7 cents and there wont be smartpricing.

The rates do not depend on Yahoo but they depend on the advertisers.
And the advertisers will keep paying lower and lower.
The answer is yes. Somewhere down the road, yahoo payout will be pretty similar to that of google.

the rates advertisers pay may not depend on yahoo, but the percentage they pay us and the percentage they keep does. if they take more, we make less. like any good company, they are going to want to find the balance to maximize how much they can keep vs how much they have to give while keeping everyone "happy" and trying to take as much of the market share as they can.

however, i agree, rates will continue to fall until they find a balancing level. who knows, with msn's version coming and the rise of more "big name" competition, the percentages they pay out may become more competative than the rates advertisers pay.

In some areas the relevancy needs work, but relevancy on most of my sites is OK, on par with G. "Sucks so bad" is just not a fair comment.

If YPN can do better than G at controlling MFA (MFYPN) sites then I think the EPC will remain quite strong. If MFYPN sites proliferate, then click conversions will suffer, which will lead to YPN creating their own version of smart pricing.

As always, IMO, as I don't work for YPN.
