I am sure it will come up to normla for all those who have had serious and clean results before june 27th.
june 27 - aug 17 my google traffic was near zero
now still going up and up
the last days again more old keywords re-appear in the index step by step first in the top 100-200, then somewhere in the top50-100 and last step usually at the old place top 10 or so.

hence it still looks like a huge data crash that google recovers slowly but surely

me too i have a 4 digit adsense $ reduction
but now all is back to normal by traffic and back to near normal in G index

hence i am sure you too will recover

i have REMOVED ALL sitemaps from Google !! to speed up recovery of reindexing
I did same last year when G index was down for 3 weeks for my site around early summer and found that WITHOUT sitemaps googel recovers faster than with sitemaps.

such a major index loss also has a good side - it shows how vulnerable a business can be if depending on one SE only. during all the downtime i focused on RSS and new content to keep the returning visitors high

specially when you have a site belonging to a particular professional niche I belief a good RSS feed strategy can contribute substantially to freedom from G or any other major SE by creating a basis of professional visitors coming from feed subscriptions or from specialzed forums / directories

there is hope for all - just use your time for increased productivity and quality improvements to be ready for a new rocket start when G is back again on your site

Well I had a sitewide re-cache around the ninth, and according to stats some stuff seems to be coming back up, but nothing, near to normal. I haven't noticed anyone else mentioning a refresh around that time, so I'm hoping thats still to come.

    Just a brief update.

Yesterday my traffic and revenue were up to about 70% of my pre-July 27th level, however, it is still about 1/3 to 2/5 (33% - 40%) what it should be for this time in Sept. Still this is a vast improvement as my traffic had been only 1/5 to 1/4 (20% - 25%) of what it should have been a week or two ago. My daily revenues are also 3.5 - 4 times what they had been just a few weeks ago.

I can't really tell how much improvement I'm seeing In Google SERPs, but I suspect I'm having some small improvements.

There is a long way to go until my site is back to "normal" but it is heading in the right direction.

The problem is that tomorrow it may be down again. Google has been so inconsistent for the past few months that it's hard to get excited about anything I see now.

I have to do some massive server log processing to see what percentage of my traffic is coming from Google, but this takes a bit of work so I'm delaying it.

Since Aug 17th when my site returned for some key phrases, I have seen a steady improvement in revenues. It is almost a straight line improvement and the last few days have not been out of line with the past couple of weeks.

I do agree that there is a great deal of volatility in Google's SERPs, which is probably why I'm not recovering faster. People should keep in mind that my site is extremely vast and that it competes for search placement for thousands of low traffic key phrases. Since Google's volatility seems to be on a key phrase by key phrase basis, not exclusively a site by site basis the rise and fall of individual phrases get balanced out by other phrases. Historically this has made my site less vulnerable to fluctuations with specific phrases. This also makes it impossible for me to actively SEO and monitor my site's performance for more than a select handful of sample phrases. For this reason almost all of my focus has always been on making my site as useful to real users as possible. Once a site gets to a certain size the mantra has to be "content is king" and the SERP placement chips must be allowed to fall where they may.

I will say this... by Google throwing webmasters into a whirlwind every so often it does make us look for mistakes... I found several throughout this whole thing, but I can't believe any of them led to the cause of being so heavily punished....

I do not like adding webbugs, etc. to my site to track my stats. They are unreliable, normally depend on images and/or JavaScript being supported by the browser and never give me all the information I want.

While my method is slower and can't give me real time data it does have a lot of advantages:
    1) it is more accurate
    2) is more consistant with methodologies over the long term (if I need to change methodologies I simply rerun old logs using the new methodology.
    3) much better control over detecting and identifying bots and automated processes
    4) I'm not beholden to a third-party service.

i'm still suffering from the june 27 debacle and it's gettig worse. my traffic and revenue were down 50% last month. this month i'm doing a third of what i was before june 27. i've come back on a couple of terms but the bounce all over the place. one day i'm a top ten the next i don't rank at all. has anyone bought expired domain traffic? i've seen targeted traffic for half a cent per 10k. i'd like to hear what experiences have been.

I'm all in for a $10,000.00 spend tomorrow....

Have another post here from Frida even ning about a 180 degree turn for Google. For some reason my rankings just disappeared this evening from Google and I don't have a clue what happened :(
searches that landed me on first page is now nowhere to be found and I just don't get it, just like anybody else that has been hit the last few months! I thought that I was OK since I did get my traffic back in the beginning of august, but hell no :( Now Google has old cached pages back again and most of the pages are supplemental.
God, I hope MSN's new search engine slowly beat the s**t out of Google:mad:

For a Saturday I'm starting off the day with very strong traffic levels. The amount of traffic I'm seeing for 9:45 AM is close to what I would have expected on a Saturday in July before the July 27th update. This is probably lower than I would normally see for a Saturday in September, but it is still good.

I too am seeing indications that there was a data refresh and my site is too returning to "normal" traffic levels. However for me it has been down since the June 27 update. All data centers I know of have now put the site back where it was on June 26.

KLB, celebrate at Gritty's tonight? Just kidding.... I'm out of town this week.

Yep, as of this morning I've bounced back up in the SERPS, which unfortunately means someone else has dropped back out.

It's nice to be on top again, but this rollercoaster thing just sucks for all involved...

We have had 20 or 30 keywords back to normal but hundreds are still missing. This is just another partial recovery. My guess is we will have to wait yet another month for any more improvements. This is just a continuing mess. Sem don't waste my time with comments about this post. It's not meant for you, I am just updating others that have a common interest.

    Ignorant

The forums were made for other people besides yourself......

But you were right..after the IBL / PR Update which should end approximately October 10th 2006 then you should see the pages return to normality.

    Peace

    egoists included!
