Help me to add meta tags

Hi There!

I tried to search for it in Google and also here in DP but most of them were not good for a rookie like me. I want to add meta tags to my wordpress website but I don't know the procedure. I am absolutely noobs when it comes to Wordpress or programming, so if anyone an guide me stepwise, that will be big help.

SEO plugins like all-in-one-seo and platinum seo helps you to add meta tags into wordpress header. If you want to add additional lines of meta tags then directly edit header.php and write those lines you want.
