Secondary traffic is usually considered to be traffic coming from a 3rd party resource.
Now, since all most all of the traffic comes from secondary resource (e.g. Google, social media sites, etc.), secondary traffic is usually defined as traffic generated by indirect interest. For example, a person searching for "funny cat pictures" would stumble upon your "funny wedding pictures" website, through a 3rd party "funny cat pictures" resource. Direct traffic, in contrast, occurs when said person gets to your site through Google while searching for "funny cat pictures".
    Hope this makes sense

Even I haven't heard anything like Primary & Secondary Traffic. What really matters is traffic for me. But yes we can however classify traffic as Targeted (Relevant) Traffic & Irrelevant Traffic.

That's a good classification too mate. You might define primary traffic as being relevant and targeted; anything else would fall into the secondary traffic category.

Thanks buddy. I think, the best is the relevant traffic because it fulfills our basic need, SALES. :)
