Probably a lot more competition for your keyword in the US market.

Maybe your site is a local site, and Google.com in USA love local site's in USA.
    So no where..

You can always try to create more backlinks with your keyword in it which should help you get ranked.

Search results are being personalized by google and it may be that you are signed in to google when you type your keywords into search. Google also localizes results and gives higher ranking to sites that specifically target a certain location.

Its must personalized by your settings. Remember SE changes continously and there is no guarantee.

Google optimize their database on base of country. If you have index your site in google co.uk it not mean you surly get index in google US and on same position. You can see the difference between search result. You have to target one keyword which brows globally and start doing link building on country base. it help you to build good result in your local market.

It's what google does for some reason. They base your results on Local Searches

This is a reflection of how competitive of your keyword, especially in US market. You have to acquire quality backlinks to help you archive high ranking. Please be noted - quality does matter over quantity when it comes to link building. You can get 1,000x from a listing in Business.com directory over a thousands of free directory.

You should also analyzer your top 3 and see through their links pattern. If you want to archive ranking in US then you have to acquire link from web based in US, sounds logical enough? :)
