Non paying submissions email templates

Today I deleted the pending submissions of people that had submitted using one of my paid or featured plans but didn't complete the payment step.

By mistake some people got a "your site was approved" email instead of your submission was deleted. So they come at my directory search for the listing and then email me asking where is their listing

Part of this is funny since I am sure that some people are just trying to get a listing without paying and then wonder where is their listing.
However I am now thinking of creating a new email template just for these cases, the reason is that I am quite sure that some of them just hired people to submit their sites to free directories and in a way got scammed. How do I know that? Simply because in the past I have bought a service like that for one of my sites and imagine my surprise when I saw that it was submitted at my own directory (without completing the payment step of course :D )

So what do you think, would that make sense or would it be a waste of time? (with emails going back and forth)

Well, maybe I'm mean, but I say waste of time. If someone asks where their listing is and they haven't paid, either politely point that out to them or ask them for their paypal payment details so that you can look it up.

I use two different messages. One for free submissions, and the other for paid. When someone submits for a paid listing and does not pay for whatever reason, they get an email telling them that they have 24 hours to pay or the listing will be deleted without approval. When 24 hours goes by and there is no payment, the submission gets flushed with no more words and no wasted time.

    Works quite well for me.

The thing is that I have been in their position before. One of my sites was submitted to a paid directory without paying.
The difference is that it wasn't submitted by me and that the directory was mine. So I suppose not everyone is trying to cheat, and by pointing out to them what is happening, those people (that are not trying to cheat) will realise that they have bought a bad service (less work for the bad service providers) and they might even consider paying for the submission.
