How do chargebacks work?

I have a charge back open against me from someone who wasn't "satisfied" with my service. Although I have done as I said. He has request a refund. How does this work? It was for "digital goods" so should I escalate it to a claim to fight it or just leave it alone?

Determine if he trying to scam you or is he truly unhappy?

Then consider if a negative itrader or negative post about you is worth it.

Try to see what he wants and accomodate him. See where the communication broke down. OR He expecting a lot more than what he paid for?

In any case, you WILL win the chargeback. PayPal does not protect buyers with intangible goods. Simply escalate and make sure you state the product sold was intangible and as described. If you escalate or not is up to you. I would first attempt to find a solution or even refund if I was in the wrong promising somethign I could not deliver.

Thanks, for your answer! It wasn't on DP however. I did deliver as promised and then re-delivered to the client the second time at no charge to make him satisfied. There were no guarantees about my product as it were facebook status updates, and his page wasn't good enough to receive the fans he wanted. Simple as that.

Paypal does not oblige chargebacks/refund for digital products/service and if the same was suitably mentioned in the transaction, I guess you are safe! :)
