Hi, I'm trying to figure out why a product we manufacture isnt coming up in the first page of Google. Well it is, but just not in the right way. If i type the product name (Acrovyn) into google, it finds the U.S website of our company but we're in the UK and have a completely different site hosted completely differently. Instead, a couple of links down it gives two links to PDF's that are on our product page, but no links to the product page itself (even searching 5 or 6 pages deep). The only way our product gets any coverage on Google is through Google Adwords. I've checked the HTML source of the product page and the keywords are all good, the Title is too, and the product name is mentioned several times on the page itself. Any ideas?
Sadly i have inherited the account from its creator who, in general has done a great job, but i'm noticiing that a few of the products just dont appear on organic searches. The problem then is that if i was to switch off the Adwords advert surely there will be a period of about a month where there will be no listing (other than those 2 PDF's) for the product? Is there anyway i can get a correct organic result up on the first page BEFORE switching off the advert?
Hi Truffle, You need to build more inbound links to the product page itself. Am I correct in thinking that this is the Acrovyn page?
It's all about SEO, period. Adwords only bring you temporary traffic as long as you keep on payiing for it. A strong bank linking program is the key, and you should start by putting a signature block when you post. Another good habit to get into is using the keywords that pertain to you site in your signature block. That ads more revelence in the eyes of the search engines.

Yes it is, and very subtle thanks (except i cant repeat it cause of my lack of posts! Great idea about the signature links too, will get right on that.
i agree - before you even contemplate adwords you need to sort out your natural listings - you need authority and to get this you need regularly updated content, reviews (where applicable), inbound links for reputable and relevant sites.
Check your whole website properly because I think there is a no-follow attribute available in your website.
