I paid $600 for a site supposedly getting 800 uniques per day and making ~$3 - $5 per day on adsense here in the digitalpoint forums. $600 is not chump change for me and I feel I have been scammed. What can I do? I have made 1 cent from the site, I bought it early yesterday, and have had around 300 uniques. EDIT: The transaction was through paypal if that matters. Paypal took the money out of my bank already.
give him bad feedback i think... i can't help you, just be patient... maybe you can develop that web so you can monetize it. good luck
You could always begin a dispute through Paypal as a last resort. Have you contacted the vendor? Have to say that I don't think 300 uniques is bad. Were they targeted traffic or just random?
Try opening a dispute in PayPal, and then if it do not works then go for a Charge Back if it is your Credit Card.
I'm not going to spend tons of money on the site when I should already be making $80+ a month , that was the point of the $600 price tag. I opened a dispute through paypal, he has been mostly unresponsive to my messages today - the only thing he said was to go to some different advertiser and sign up. IT WAS ADSENSE THAT WAS SUPPOSEDLY MAKING THE MONEY - not some other advertising company. I'm not going to waste my time with this. Just want my refund! (that was my rant to the seller sorry if it seemed it was towards you)
You can try to get the money back by proving screenshots through Paypal. Make sure you include that what he sold, wasn't what you had recieved. Mojachie.
Just and FYI PayPal will not give you your money back. Buyers are not protected by PayPal when buying intangible goods (which you bought). It does not matter if you file Not As Described either. The only way you may be able to recover some money is if you did NOT pay with your PayPal balance but instead paid with a credit card attached to paypal. 300 uniques a day does sound pretty good however, probably not $3-5 a day but more than 1 cent. Are you sure you changed all the banners to your own? Also, did you do your own research prior to buying? Look up how many backlinks, alexa ranking, pr for the domain?
You can use dispute option in paypal. Be wise always. There are so many spammers roaming here and there to cash for unwanted sites.
I would be most suprised if you get your money back by using the dispute system,as i read it its only 24 hours since you bought the site and you dont provide details like did you have to transfer the site over to another server or it maybe kept on the same server the lacking of details like this may make a differance as move a site to another server could account for say a drop in the amount of visitors. My opinion is you are asking for suggestions on what to do but you dont provide a great amount of information the only details you have provided are the purchase price and revenue, clicks and a 24 hours time duration my opinion would be leave it for another few days and then see what the site is performing like then re-group and the make plan on what to do next.
I don't know how people will want to sell a website making $3-5 a day via adsense. Well, he faked the information and definitely scammed you. IMO, you won't see that much of traffic sooner or later if you don't do SEO. may be he was doing some sort of SEO at the time when the website was in his possession but now the website will be down. Better contact him.
Your right, paypal didn't do anything /GRR I am supposedly given 10 days for the seller to respond and if they dont respond I get my money back, but paypal reviewed it and closed it before the 10 days were up so I didn't even get that chance. How is there buyer protection if they don't solve scam cases? Load of BS. The good thing is, paypal charged my card for the transaction so I'm going to do a chargeback against the paypal transaction.
I don't think you will get your money back for digital products. I have been scammed $700 recently (like 3-4 months ago) and i have forgotten about the money. Just get on with your website and monetize it. At least you got the website. I paid $700 to get $0 in return. But life goes on. Kind regards, Yogesh
No, that is bs, you should have done everything you could to get your money back. The transaction doesn't stop at paypal. I just went to the bank and the charge was done on a debit card, so I couldn't do a chargeback but they are having me fill out this paperwork to do a dispute and get my money back.
Remember to always check if the site is likely to get the amount of visitors the seller is talking about. Good and unique visitors make comments n stuff
