I am using Pinnacle Studio 14. I have tried 5 times to create a dvd that will play on my tv's dvd player. The disks will run fine on my computer. I have created files like video_ts and audio_ts, .MOV, .mpg and none will run.

I previously created runable disks when my computer was running Vista, but I upgraded (?) to Windows 7 in between.

Studio 14 gives so many choices of file types, and does not give a good explanation.

Is there a .bat type file that gets the dvd player to start a movie? Is there some other format that would work?

    Please help!

I just created another DVD, and when I look at the disk, I have 2 directories (audio_ts and Video_ts), plus another entry that is headed "Files ready to be written to disk (desktop.ini).

What the heck is desktop.ini, and if it is waiting to be written to disk, how come when I click on Burn to Disk, explorer says there are no files ready to be burnt to disk? I am confused, and hate technology. Haven't programmers learned yet the principal of KISS?

If you want to burn a DVD and watch on TV.
Just make a data disc with the help of Nero
or Roxio Easy Using Media or any other software.
Then burn a DVD it will definitely run on TV.And
    you watch movie,clips etc

After searching this many times..... the easy answer for me was download Format Factory change the format of the movie to .MPG Then use Windows DVD Maker (which was already on my windows 7 computer) to make the DVD. And sound and video have always worked fine. Format Factory is also good to change the format of your music, so it will go on CD easily with windows media player. (for your CD's change to .WAV for your ipod change to .M4A and for ure Phones use MP3. It's all to do with the format. Hope's this help's someone :)

You should have something stated in the manual regarding the format. If not, then, tell me about the brand. I'll google it for you.
That's how bad it has gotten. :p

You won't be able to play a dvd on your tv's dvd because you always make your dvd a data dvd. Data dvd can be read only on a computer, so in order to play a dvd cd on your dvd you should have to make a video dvd when you are selecting an option on your nero. Why are you bothering with old technology like dvd players, connect your laptop with your tv using a hdmi cable and you can watch the movie in a matter of seconds. The only thing you are doing with burning cds is wasting money on compact discs and wasting time to burn them and trying to make them work on your dvd, and in the end that dvd will be just another unused thing sitting in your room.
