hah! i dont think you do not know this! my idea, i would think marketing is just the way the ppl use to promote their product and sale is the word to describe of the product that you will sell it.
Marketing: the ways a product is promoted to build it's brand and lead potential customers to act (eg buy it) Sale: (action) when the customer actually buys the product OR (event) a type of marketing promotion encouraging potential customers to buy the product at a lower price.
