    No. don't put keywords in inverted commas or in any punctuational quotations. While choosing keywords, keep these 3 steps in your mind:

    1. They have strong relevancy to your site. Means your content should be very supportive to them.
    2. They have relatively high search volume
    3. They have relatively low competition

    You can use Google Free Keyword Suggestion Tool and Free Wordtracker Keyword Tool to see the search volume of keywords.

    Well, it is better to use some special tools and I agree with people here, that it is of a greate use to search for keyword popularity in Google Keyword External Tool. Plus it is free. Here you can test different kinds of search queries, like with " ", [ ] etc. The results may differ.

    Or you can use some specialized paid services, for example:
    * wordtracker.com
    * keyworddiscovery.com
    * wordstream.com/keyword-tools
    * xadant.com

    etc

    Before choosing keywords you need to analyze your competitor & analyze market the after doing this analysis you can finalize keywords with the help of google ad-word tool, this tool will help you to find out exact local & global search volume & advertiser competition on that keyword.

    I will suggest you that don't go with the demand alone. Pick those keywords only which are relevant to your website whether they have more or less demand and if you still want to go with the demand only then use Google Adwords Keyword Tool.

    Hey Ladybug, The best keywords are those with a good number of hits per month(1,000 to 5,000) with the lowest competition or competing pages. It takes a little work but it pays off with better rankings.

    A part of successful search engine optimisation of web pages is working out what keywords your prospective visitors might type in to a search engine to find your site. Some are more competitive than others - try searching for 'web design' in Google, there are millions of results! For smaller, establishing web sites it is better to target less popular keywords and phrases to begin with and aim for success with those.
    With keywords you can bring your site at the top most and you could generate good traffic to your site a. so choose right keywords
