Hi! I wanted to ask a question: Which would be best for user experience and for SEO. Currently my site has some guides for a specfic subject topic. The guides are displayed as HTML pages and are all linked as an internal area of my side. Each guide links to the next and previous guide. I have the availability to set up a forum or a blog and was wondering if doing so will improve my rankings within the search engines and user experience. Which will be the best format to present such information (new topics are added weekly). A blog or a forum or leave as is? Your thoughts please.

In my own experiences, blogging would be a nice channel for building backlinks for your sites when considering for SEO. You could also enable commenting on your blogs for increasing user experiences purpose. Have a nice day,
Both of them are same. The only different is blog owner need to prepare everything to share with the visitor And forum owner is more focus on getting member and helping member, member will do partial on the information providing for the owner
In my experience, you get PR's from Blogs because there are more blog articles with PR's than Forum topics with PR's. When it comes to backlinks, I think they're the same as ong as both are DoFollow.
Blogs are a medium to express your ideas and interests.It seems that blogging will provide a better path to attracting people with specific and targeted interests which is good for SEO, whereas forums are for discussions to share and earn knowledge.
the other advantages of blogs is that you can have autocontent being generated for keywords and categories that are around what you are optimising for - foruns will rely on you getting members and those members being active - hard work!
As per my perseption we cant comapre blogs and forums because forums are the disussions centre where are links can be indexed on a daliy basis.Where as forums are aslo called as link farms.Blogs can be a permanent source of your backlinks.Therefore if its mandatory to choose b/w both of them i would surely go for Blogs.
I've seen blogs that are obvious link farms and I don't think a forum is any more a link farm than any other kind of site. Take this forum, for instance, it doesn't seem like a link farm at all to me.
My opinion - in some cases, blogs seem to rank better then forums. But in other cases, forums rank better. With forums you can control stuff like keyword placement in links, alt and title tag on images,,,, stuff that a lot of forums do not offer. If you want to build a community - use a forum If you want to be the only one posting stuff - use a blog I see a lot of site owners wanting to use a blog to build a community with. In my opinion, that is what forums are for. If you want people to keep posting after you have lost interest, get a forum.
Hey, Blog is perfect way to optimize your website instantly because it's open source and right now Search engines are giving more preference to open sources because they are more search engine friendly and user friendly due to their uniqueness of content.
I think both will just have the same weight. It will just depend on the content. Forum content are also indexed by search engine as well as blog contents. It will just go where you like most.
a blog will do a lot in gaining traffic especially when you keep it updated and making it more informative.
