    Deffo massage the area.

First massage around the part that doesn't hurt and work your way to the painfull part and it will feel better.

Cheers couple of friends said "do stretches as if you are doing stretches before a football match" do you think this will help?

If you can find it I suggest Tiger Balm, it's like body heat but much stronger and feels lovely when I pull a muscle in my back. I got mine in Thailand but I've bought it in America too so you might be able to get it N. Ireland.

    D) all of the above

I would also find a 'wrap' and use that when you are active in addition to everything else like Tigerbalm or another brand name we use is 'Icy Hot'.

and of course if you were tight with T.O. (Dallas Cowboys), you could always ask to borrow his hyperbarric chamber.

Tiger balm is good stuff, you might also want to try the patches...
