How to send a few thousand SMS fast and cheap?

Hi everyone!

I have a project for a client at the moment. The whole idea is that he has this huge database of phone numbers (mobile phones), he want's to send them all a sms. He knows them all so it wont be a spam.

I was searching the web and saw a couple of people who offered this, but to be honest I have no idea if there any good.

Is there anything you can suggest me?

I have a client with similar interests, actually! I'd like to know as well. I didn't know something like this was possible

 

Just set up a script that uses SMS gateways, they can be found here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SMS_gateway

The idea is just to send an email to each of the numbers through the carriers specified address. It would have to be a script that automatically checked the carrier, though. This is cheap and cost effective.

 

How many messages in the database?

 

I currently know some guys and as soon as i ask them i will be in touch with u. but i think thats gonna cost because u will have to deal with local companies in order to provide that service to your database or whatever. Anyway i will let u know soon.

I have used smscity.com in the past as a SMS gateway. The where the cheapest back then and can handle almost any volume with there API.

Why do you require people to enter their cell number to see your demo or get any info? I think people may be more apt to use your product if they didnt have to give you their cell number just to check out your program...

they also have an API so if you want to develop a system which you can use with their sevices its pretty straightforward.

 

You can also use Google SMS Channel service for this. All you need to do is create your own channel and add people to your list. SMS will be sent directly to the mobile numbers of the person you have provided.
