I think passion is the key so it's best to gravitate towards what you are passionate about, after that anything you do just doesn't feel like work.

Nice hit and run alliwant. Our resident newbie helper was just giving a pep talk. Absolutely no need for the insult. Learning a little grace is number four on that list.

I agree with the aspect of being passionate. Consistency also goes a long way helping one to be successful.

As the road to success is long and weary.

well I'm sorry for making you'z all angry, but I get sick of reading more people handing out self-motivation when people want/need facts about problems in ur life/business and what you did to solve them.

As to me having nothing and hating people who do, that's it, you hit it... I'm writing this from a cardboard hut with a jacked internet connection. Hang on, I gotta go, I hear my mom calling... thx for reading. bbs

Self-motivation is a critical part of success though and that's why people preach it so much.

You can have all the knowledge in the world but if you're not motivated to achieve something, you will never get there.

There are plenty of threads on here where people talk about actual business problems they had or are having and there are good answers in those threads too.

Why should we only focus on that aspect and not the motivation part?

    Thank you!

Many of the posters here aren't very smart, so be prepared.

Thanks for the laugh, though. :D

Well I consider calling someone a 're***d' as disgusting and unneccessary, even if you don't!

Yeah it was probably offensive to call him a retard and maybe a step too far. It was late. I get disillusioned with a lot of either plain wrong advice or bad advice that scatters the internet. A lot of people say just do task x really well and stick to it and you'll do ok. Some people get lucky because they choose the right niche with low competition and all the elements come together at the same time. But a lot of the time if the advice is on here you have a billion people competing using the exact same advice. And some of those people are from countries with lower pay.

The general marketing section is basically a watered down SEO section. Maybe we should start telling people they actually need to sketch out business plans, and that they need to analyze the barrier to entry. Let's start talking about current corporate strategy theory, such as the resource based theory. Maybe it would adjust how people structured their business. As for the marketing section we should probably be talking about split testing different phrases and headlines and how it'll affect conversions. But I haven't seen this yet, maybe it's in there somewhere lost to time.
