So Zune has been released, and these few little specs have caught my eye: "3-inch screen, a built-in FM tuner, and wireless capability" http://www.techtree.com/techtree/jsp/article.jsp?article_id=75909&cat_id=615 Sweet! So what do you think? Will it kill the iPod? Or will it dominate the 'I have an MP3 player, but it's not an iPod" market?
tune with a z? I dunno, the microsoft marketing geniuses feel it will resonate with our generation somehow...
Looks like yet another MP3 player, ipod wanna be to me. I'm far from an apple fan (although i do own a shuffle) but you have to wonder how many blue screens of death this thing will have...LOL
check out the image here... http://mszune.com/zune-news-rumors/40-first-zune-images-leaked.html i'd go for a zune simply because the screen is 1 inch larger than the 1-inch ipod video...
same here, that's the reason that I went with Pocket PC, it can play MP3s, and I can watch movies and actually see what's going on
Any mp3 has better specs than ipod but ipod is the king. Ipod is not about specs is about feelings, that's marketing!!!
Feelings ? If people are buying based on brand and not features, they don't deserve the best product. The Ipod isn't that hot, my ex girlfriend bought one. and what a hellish experience it was setting up her pc to transfer mp3's to it. I guess if you like getting all your music from itunes its ok, lol... A music player should transfer files as easily as a usb key.
I agree completely however, despite the tight integration with iTunes, the one sweet thing about iPod is the slick interface. I hope Zune imitates it to be honest
Hilarious, blue screen of death on your MP3 player. I fear the day when every new car comes installed with Windows.
I've owned 3 iPods. All three have been junk. I'll never buy another one. I've been waiting for Zune.
People buys iPods because are cool, they don't know what 1Gb means, they don't know that an mp3 can have radio, they like the dessign, they like the colors, they like people knowing that they have an ipod, that's what i mean with feelings (maybe i'm not good enoutgh with english). And apple knows this, and apple have sold tons of them... Do you think a mac is better than a win-pc? Maybe but you will never know, you only use some software that runs perfectly in both if they are new enougth. The diference is the design: one is cool and the other is ugly. The software can do the same in both it's only software.
That's not entirely true. While I don't want to get off-topic, I'm a heavy PC user, and I'm thinking of switching to MAC, as they are simply better machines as far as the iPod goes, yeah, it was just good marketing that got it where it is, there are better players out there, and it seems like zune is one of the best
Macs really get on my nerves. I like to pay half the price for twice the machine with a PC. Additionally, I like having the plethora of third-party vendors that cater to Windows machines. Macs have their pluses, but its a Windows world. As far as iPods, they are junk. Plain and simple. I have two that I babied and both have had nothing but problems. Apple's warranty is a joke. I'm looking forward to the Zune to keep in the car. I think it will be perfect for that. As for the gym, I have a little 2 gig sandisk that cost 1/2 of what my Nano cost and is virtually indestructible in comparison. Apple, IMO, is an "image" product. Always will be. If you want to be "seen" at your local Starbucks wearing the right clothes, sipping your latte, and listening to your sleek little Nano then by all means, go ahead. If you actually have a life and enough sense to ward off the rare virus (on PCs) and care more about quality than image, then the choice is obvious.
I am heard some good things about zune, and its always good to have options. More competition means better deal for customers
For the most part yes. But they've always been ahead of the game when it comes to OS innovation. Half the upcoming Vista features simply mimic OSX
yes, its nothing new, when the winxp got launched it targetted towards mac users only so this doesn't comes as a surprise.
I agree with the "image" of an ipod. Probably the only reason I never got one...didn't want to follow the crowd. the social aspects of the zune sound interesting though...i'll buy a halo version of the zune!
