I'm not sure if anyone would like to participate, but this is a contest for the strangest news story. It could be from anywhere in the world, should be related to politics or religion, and winner will be chosen by general consensus (in about a week?). No prizes, but at least you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that you found the strangest story. :)

    I thought this was interesting...

    Thanks Babak, :)

I don't know if it's permitted in Christianity, I'm actually an agnostic. I think so. It's just not that common.

The subject of the question above is to find the strangest news story. The last time I visited Iran Press TV it seemed like they had some funny ones, I kept trying to comment on them but they censored me every time. Ha Ha. You're right though, we should have a prize, even if it's just an award, ebook, link in my signature, or something, I'll think about it...

if you don't want your posts delete there, have to write it as they love. so you see PressTV!!! and I watch CNN! lol

a new story in my country is: five Kurdish-Iranian guys executed last week without their attorney knew about it and their corpses haven't delivered to their family so far.
I guess nowadays this story isn't weird any more!

Aaah, I see -- seriously, they delete every post. Next time I'm there, I'll type in something like "Ahmadinejad is the man!" and see if they delete that. :)

Well, this one is strange but not funny; some Muslim who apparently ate part of his wife. Sad, but bizarre.

    That's awful.

I think that you and Babak are winning so far, but I did find another weird story. Thieves just broke into a crematory in Ohio and stole a hearse, only there happened to be a dead body in it.

    I got one too:

"COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A crowd of a couple hundreds people gathered last Sunday, 10:00AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Columbus for a bizarre rite in which the priest presiding the ceremony delivered small, round white flour crackers to the attendants. In an emotionally charged moment, the celebrant placed the crackers, in a one-to-one fashion right in the mouth of his fellow cult-followers, who readily proceeded to swallow the object. Even weirder, the priest claims to have turned the ordinary crackers into the flesh or the long-deceased leader of their cult, claim that the cult members are convinced it's true. This extraordinary transmutation is said to have occurred just moments earlier, when the priest performed magic passes and invocations. Undisclosed sources explained that the alleged feat is achieved following secret ancient shamanic procedures, although the exact nature of the mechanisms involved is unknown. No comments were issued by official channels at this moment. --"

Geez this is weird... although... oh wait...!

Priest puts something in his parishioner's mouth, telling them to imagine it is the flesh of their leader.... ewwww. Wait, have I used that line?

    Helvetii, I don't know...

Do you know of any strange stories in the news? :)

What?! I'm sorry, but that story is simply unbelievable! That would never happen, J/K.

Seriously though, nice story. That was very creative.

    LOL, that's funny.

In a few days we can vote on the best story. I'm not sure how we'll do the voting, I'm wondering, am I able to add a poll on a week old thread? I think for the prize, I'll put the winners link in my signature for at least a week. Extremely unlikely to happen, but to cover the bases, if your link is objectionable, I do reserve the right to reject it. If that were to happen, I would just ask you for a different link - we would I'm sure, work something out. Of course, I'm excluded from the possibility of winning. I did find another strange story, a lady just found Jesus in her Kit Kat bar! She took a bite out of it, and there he was staring back at her!! Ha Ha.

    YAY!!

The funny thing about that "bizarre catholic rite" of communion is that I used to do it twice a week during elementary school (a catholic school) and took it naturally. Then I grew up, learned some stuff about how thinks really are and got rid of the mind poison, and now I can't believe that people actually take that shit seriously.
