Just wondering if there is still a good amount of value in submitting my blogs to sites such as reddit and digg. I figure it would be pretty easy to set up a wordpress plugin to do so, and I see the value in getting the traffic to our site through visitors. I'm just wondering if there is any value pagerank wise in doing so. Thanks!
No all Links are No Follow and hence wont count as backlink so you wont get any pagerank due to them .
consider this: 1. it brings you traffic, more or less 2. some site claw digg content and display as them own, sometime you will get follow links as they remove the nofollow part
It won't be helpful to increase your PR because most of such sites are "NOFollow". Of course, if you can find sites that support "DoFollow", then you can gain some backlinks, which will help your PR.
I dont think there is any page rank value attatched as both those sites are nofollow. However they can bring a lot of visitors and they may like your content and spread your links around. Also submitting to Digg gets your indexed a lot faster, especially if Google is slow to index your site.
I am afraid these backlinks from digg would give you no PR value... but then that is the only negative side to it. If you can overlook the same, these links will provide you lot many benefits in terms of serp position and traffic! Regards, RightMan
No, I don't think so. Bookmarked pages in Digg/Reddit are nofollow, so they are not counted by Google as backlinks. But they can still generate TRAFFIC to your site. So it's still a good method to do.
Alternatively, you could become a solid user at digg or reddit and try to write content with a chance of getting a front page. A front page will get you more links than most other tactics.
Actually that is somewhat correct, while Digg/Reddit are nofollow if users of them post your information/link on their sites, it could help increase your pagerank.
You just need to check whether the backlink is dofollow or nofollow If the website is dofollow, then it helps you in PR. nofollow not help at all
Digg and Reddit will help you with traffic, but not with PR. Instead of falling into the trap of constantly promoting to stay at the same level of traffic, my suggestion is to mix some social bookmarking with longer term promotion methods (e.g. directory submissions, articles, and link exchanges.)
