    Why we still use Article Marketing? Is it worth the time spent???



    Hello guys,

    I have lately seen quite a lot of posts asking about the usefulness of article marketing. People still have questions about article marketing why it is helping in the art of SEO of internet branding. Being a marketer and internet user for the past 2 year, I would like to write on how article marketing helps and why a marketer should still use this.

    History
    Article marketing is there for more years like directory submission but it has been fairly respected by search engine even this time.

    It's not just links
    I still see people posting a 275 word article in an article directory just for building links. You should be aware that search engines and users are clever enough and grown to such an extent to ignore crap articles. So articles should not be just written for link building, it is just more than that.

    Can Articles give you traffic? Yes they can even thousands Unique visitors a day!
    Ok, many ask this question too. The answer is Yes. Article marketing gives traffic to your website. Not mere one or two. If you do it in a write way, they are capable of giving 1000 if not more unique visitor a day. Check out this case study, I did.

    Now let us see approximately how many visits this article is getting per day. To check this we need to access cached version of this website. You need to google up with cache:ezinearticles.com/?Cell-Phone-Number-Search---How-to-Reverse-Lookup-a-Cell-Phone-Number&id=1600633 to see this.

    Here is the result:
    So by 15 May 2010 07:02:04 GMT the article has got total visits of 1,303,402 time(s)

    Now the time is Saturday, 15 May 2010, 17:55:48

    So it has been approximately 11 hours since this page has been crawled. I hope you got it. 17:55 (Present time) subtracted by crawl time -> 07:02

    The difference is article view count is 1,304,241 - 1,303,402 = 839 visits (OMG!)

    839 visits in 11 hours and this turns to 1830 visits a day....!!!!

    I am sure the CTR for this article would be really high as the quality is high. Just considering a 20% CTR to your link, this article would give you more than 10,980 visits a month. Now is that worth the time you spend???

    Now you guys must be aware of the power of article marketing. So how to do this effectively? How to create compelling articles that can receive massive traffic. Here are some guidelines.

    How to do article marketing in right way? Here are some ways

    • Go with the Market - What people would want at this point of time? They want solutions to their day today problems. Right from how to start their bike to how to select a life partner, people have questions and confusions. Talk and solve these problems. People would love you.
    • Data and Live resutls - Talk like people. Give data point that can help them understand your talks. People need proof and not just jargons.
    • Fun and Humor - We all love fun and humour. Just dont put crap of words and create paragraphs over paragraphs. Add some funny and pepy talks that people would love to read.
    • Personal - You would like people of your own age, nature, habit, mentality etc., So add a bit of personalization to your article. Talk from your perspective. Put down your reader' shoe and start writing.
    • SEo - From an SEO perspective choose long tail keywords that can rank your article and get you traffic.
    • Take away - Finally the article should have some value that the user can take home after reading it.
    • Article Bio - This is why you write article! Put up a professional bio with your website link embedded as a part of the article. Just don't throw words like "Visit my website". Tell them for what they have to visit your website...
    • Submission is important - Do not just submit to any website and crap your article. Submit to sites that have good editorial process like that of ezinearticles.com
    • Don't spin too much - People spin the article and submit to thousand of article websites. Search engines are too clever and will discard and d evaluate your links if you spin and throw it any where in internet.

    Last but not least. Do some SEO and Link building for your article too as they are your asset. All the best and I hope this article helps you solving some basic questions.

    I came to this thread to make a post exactly like this one.

    I started article marketing solely to gain links. But my referred traffic from article diretories like EZA was very impressive and caused me to think differently about article marketing!

    I think for very unique and rare keywords, we can get away with 250 words article. If those keywords are in competitive niche, I doubt even a 600 words article can reach the top in search engine.

    Thanks for these. I've started using Ezine a few days (have 3 good posts, taking it slowly) and am waiting to see how it will go.

    Great tips for those that don't know about it yet!

    Scheng1, it is not just about number of words. It is about the quality. How far is your content user centric? Has it helped him solve his personal issues? So, forget about words and try to give user centric, high quality content.

    As ever useful content is key, a 400 word informative article that provides information that is in demand, will serve a better purpose than a 700 word article that is written for the sole purpose of getting 2 links in it for example.
